Things That Make You Mad IRL

Archive: 20 posts

Seeing how the "Things That Make You Mad" thread in the LBP2 section is a great place to express our frustrations with the LBP community, I thought we could use an IRL version of that thread. Tell us here what gets on your nerves in real life.

I'll start:
I hate it when two or more friends (usually old women) encounter each other by chance in a public place and start chatting for a long time right on the spot, not realizing they're obstructing the doorway.

There's this one guy in particular that bugs me ALOT. Really hard to keep composure when he talks to me. Otherwise, not many things frustarate me, really.2011-11-25 17:40:00

Continuing on the topic of old people. When I visit my grandparents and they both ask me questions literally at the same time, and then both expect me to answer. Seriously, you old fools? Have you not noticed you were talking to me exactly at the same time?

I'm barely an adult and I'm afraid to get old already

Grown-ups and old people assuming that it's always us, the teenagers, that have done something when we haven't. :/2011-11-25 19:41:00

People who play music (Without earphones/headphones) on buses.
People who take babies into cinemas. (They ruin it for themselves, and everyone else who paid to go.)
People who, walking with friends on thin walkways, don't break formation when people walking in the other direction can't get past them.
People who seem to express genuine difficulty when asked to stop talking. It's not hard, son, you won't forget how to talk if you stop for a minute or two. Honest.

Four things off the top of my head. All things my College crew and I have discussed at some point and unanimously agreed, warrant a smack upside the head.

Oh god, this one. I hate this so much. When two or three people on the walkway are walking side by side and instead of one of them getting behind the other, they all expect us to step aside onto the road just because we're walking alone. I've learnt how to counter this. When I see a group coming towards me I always get as far from the road as possible and walk slightly faster as if I intended to crash against one of them. Opens my path like a charm

Fact: The worst the music they are hearing is, the louder it is. Why don't people that play loud music on buses don't play some Bon Jovi or Whitesnake or anything that at least brings a nicer feeling to the bus?

1. When you say that you don't like Justin Bieber, and then some girl walks up to you and yells "You're just jealous!"
2. When people reply to you with a comment that is impossible to understand (I'm sure we've all seen this, considering the type of grammar people have in-game). For example: "omg this real good i think he was work really hart this good".
3. When you hear your phone ringing upstairs, you go to get it, it stops, you go back down, and it rings again.
4. Nerds who are so full of themselves that they call their creations masterpieces and "the best" when it's obviously horrible (not just applying to LBP).
5. People who republish their levels every day just to stay on the cool pages (sorry, not real life but it peeves me off).
6. Kids who cut in line because they think they're cool or have "cliques". Eeew.
7. People who generalize and complain about a whole race or country when they are either of or from that area, or do not have sufficient evidence to classify the whole area. For example: "I hate the human race! They're all the same!" Uh, no. They're not. Have u met the whole world? I don't think so.
8. When a little kid almost gives someone a concussion or other serious injury and they get away with it because "they don't know any better". Yeah, they're only four, but that doesn't mean you can let that slide. At least a scolding or something, then they'll just think it's okay to go around socking people or throwing stuff at others' heads.
9. When someone buys five of the same thing because that person is a collecter.
Yes, a lot of things are annoying .

The weird looks I get when I walk my dog simply because I'm wearing a hoodie (it's bloody freezing otherwise) and an Iron Maiden t-shirt (aww yeah). Completly based on the awful portrayal of my age group within the media, I've done nothing that bad yet everyone seems to think I have ?.?

Also, really over-exaggerated voices. This one girl was told to leave my Business class, and she suddenly kept going "noooooooooooooooooooooo" and "pleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase" over and over, it was very annoying to listen to. to put this into context, my year group is 15-16 years old. She sounded about 4 during this.

When you something that could be interpreted as something else and the person you said it to goes into massively defensive mode.

This also. We have a Chinese friend who doesn't entirely understand English ideolect yet and this happens a lot.

This thread also, everytime I finish editing this post I think of something else to add xD

Oh, and iTunes. It's the most abysmal piece of software on the planet and I truly hate it. I wish I could use my iPod with something else, hell, I'd even prefer Windows Explorer. Just not iTunes.

I hate (secretely) most of my neighbours, they play music in high volume all day. The worst thing is that the neighbours that live just above me (houses in my neighbourhood are together) and the walls in my house vibrate at 9 o' clock, when I have to sleep. My bed is next to the wall, and I have a really hard time trying to get some sleep.

Also I hate (also secretly) most of pepole in my classroom (most of my friends are in other classrooms). Our classroom is also together to a first grade classroom. In first grade we learn biology, and that includes sex ed, and sometimes child scream because of what they are learning. I honestly feel I'm one of the most mature pepole I've ever met. Pepole in my classroom are also inmature. Sometimes we have earthquake simulations so we are prepared for when it happens, and most of pepole are running, screaming and laughing at the same time, etcetera.

Also I hate when pepole talk about videogames and they say every game they don't like sucks. Some guy in first grade called my friend Emmanuel (his PSN is Roxasoramarco) and me LittleBig-fagss. And honestly, we had a lot of things to make fun about that kid, he was fat, his voice was funny, and I'm honestly happy he's gone. Thank God.

I hate when pepole that try to get their ideas into us appear on TV, like protestant christians that tell us not to play Spore because it teaches about evolution. Minecraft becuase it is distractive and Magiquest because it teaches Alchemy. They shouldn't appear on TV. I'm a catholic christian and I've learnt because of my religion that you must accept other's ideas.

When you buy a video game somewhere, and then see it somewhere else for half the price !!

[Example]: I bought Red Alert 3 (Strategy game) in Gamestop for $25 and then saw it for $5 in another game store !! aghhhhh

The other shop was actually 5 times less ;D

Other people have posted, so I'm off ranting again, huzzah!

I have Mock Exams coming up, which is the most pointless thing ever. I have to revise for them like they're real exams, sit them like they're real exams, and have the results mean nothing! What's the point? I've done plenty of actual GCSE exams before, why is this needed now? Especially considering the teachers don't teach us the stuff we need because they have more important things to do (such as making sure we get on with our coursework), so yeah, that's annoying.

The whole thing going on with the games industry and people who don't seem to get it. A group of friends and I were discussing how CoD, while being good, never really gets any better and how it'd be better from a player's point of view if they only released one every two years at least and spend actual, quality time on making it much better each time, and this one person insisted that we wrong at every point.

Headphones. I've had my pair for less than 6 months and they've died, so I'v ehad to resort to some old ones which lost the plastic and really hurt if you wear them too long, as well as basically playing the music to everyone else in the room. It'll cost at least ?10 to get some more. Joy.

Olnly other thing that comes to my mind is my phone. It runs Symbian is all that needs saying really.

That should be enough for one more post
