Two questions...

Archive: 9 posts

Hi, I got two small questions, hope I don't sound dumb by asking them

Anyway.
1. I'm making a tank, and I'm currently doing the part where the tank shoots from.
My question is, what switch and what bolt do I use?
Just like the mighty mite tank, where kratos4 uses a three way switch, but what bolt?

2. In some rollercoaster levels, I noticed people making a track, and when you reach a certain point, it dissapears and another tracks appears so the coaster can move along, how?

Hmm, well your going to use a three way switch. To move the aimer up and down. As for the bolt, not sure. Either a Wobble bolt or a Motor bolt. I'm drawing a HUGE blank right now lol.

For your second question. What they do is, I'll use a loop for an example.

They have it so when your inside the loop, a section of the loop disappears using dissolve material, so your not stuck inside the loop.

Basically it would look like this, excuse me for this UGLY diagram.

_L______
_/

The "L" I used here would be dissolve material, that's suppose to be a loop by the way. So once the coaster is past the L, it dissolves, and you exit the loop and keep going.

Understand? Or am I not even answering your question lol.

Cheers for answering man, I appreciate.
But, at the second question...
They don't use dissolve material, but the material that is used for the track itself (e.g. stone)
Did they use the cow glitch?

And yea, pretty good diagram

Yeah, probably cow glitch. Unfortunately, that's been patched up. So your either going to have to paint the dissolve material, or make your whole track green.2008-12-26 18:27:00

Just wanted to add something.. Don't know if it's solved but for the first question: Definitely wobble bolt. As for the disappearing non-dissolve material, it can be done without the cow glitch. See my post(s) here: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=p=104076#5
Hope it helps

Maybe the first track you see is just for aesthetics and is dissolve matterial, and there is also a thin block of dissolve material covering the second piece of track? So when you reach a certain point the thin block disapears revealing what looks like track that just appeared when it was hidden all along?
Or maybe they just emitted it for infinity

here is a nice trick i picked up.

you can use disolve material do not worry about that, (the brain and paint thing works too, but you still need to change the material or else the entire track goes with it) so basically you change the material to dissolve. and do not paint it yet. wichever material you are using for the track make a giant square somewhere else on your level or in a different one, you are doing this just for a sticker remember, So take a photo of it, and use that sticker to cover up the dissolve material so it looks similiar to the others, after that just glue it in, by just glueing it or useing a really small piece of Dark matter.

Hope this helps

Cheers!
