Quick microchip question

Archive: 10 posts

Just a quick question here, how do you save a microchip, give it an output for later use in something else, and give it an icon? I was just watching a tutorial for some logic, and saw that he had custom microchips with icons, and when he used one, it had an output that he just had to quickly wire to what he needed. How can I do this?2011-11-24 05:16:00

To save the microchip, you just stick it on something, say a piece of cardboard, and select only the microchip using the object capture tool.

The icon is just a sticker. So you place your microchip and use the sticker/decoration editor to remove the existing sticker and replace it with your own.

As far as I know, microchips don't have outputs so I can't really help you there (logic isn't my forte).

Hope that helped and hopefully someone else can shed some more light on that last question for you.

You can make an input and an output just by connecting a wire to something outside of the chip. Same to make an input.

When making custom logic I usually place the chip on another microchip. If you select something from what you are working on an place the wire on the set up Microchip it will make a node. You can then take the output of the node an make another wire onto the original microchip.
Then delete the node. You now have an input and an output.

If you hover the cursor over them you can use square to actually name them also.

You can also name the chip and when you capture it it will be auto named in your popit.

Thanks, and to make it have a custom badge, I just sticker over it?
Edit: And on a random topic, how do I make the image in my signature link to a LBP.me page?

i think you can remove the chip sticker with the sticker tool. so it would be wise to remove that first and then put your own sticker on it2011-11-24 20:04:00
