LBP3 Ideas or Thoughts?

Archive: 17 posts

Hello everyone! I don't know if there is going to be a LBP3 or not but judging by the popularity of LBP1 and 2, MM will no doubt make a third. So, if there is going to be a LBP3, what would you like changed/added?

I was thinking some more logic tools or some of those annoying bugs in LBP2 fixed. I'm sure something a lot of us would benifit from would be a thermometer with a greater capacity, or something like that. Share your ideas down below in the comments to get a good discussion going. Maybe MM might notice and include some of your ideas..? You never know!

I say next generation, LBP2 max out what PS3 can do and there to many limitations to make jump like LBP1 to LBP2 was and also MM told that they making new IP right now2011-11-18 02:55:00

I dont see there being a LittleBigPlanet 3 this generation; the game can barely handle level in LBP2 lol but if theres is a LittleBigPlanet in the future, it needs:

A saving system
Built in Math Logic( creating logic around this takes up to much space--and time)
A review system that only lets reviews pass if the player actually completes the level
3D like Super Mario 64, probably the most important advancement this series can make

My list is small lol But other than a lack of math/saving logic tools, theres not anything I had trouble building, I mean the logic tools given has an infinite number of uses, although I would imagine 3d tools being a little different.

i'm not to sure about that. engines can always improve and approaches change constantly. remember, when MM made LBP1 they were independent and wouldn't have had access to the 'Sony Think Tank' and insider knowledge. LBP2 was simply LBP1 with tweaks and DLC added. LBP3 could and should be a completely new engine that can retain BC and the way Sony promote this franchise, it's clear that they feel they've hit the jackpot.

Sony will make the next LBP game (with MM as consultants) and MM will make a more in depth LBPesque game (with Sony as consultants.

...Whats with all this hopeful talk about LBP3 when Mm have already said that they are preoccupied with another unnamed project and have Traiser making the next big LBP title.. the one for the Vita... Which actually is being made and will be out in a few months..

This would make a wonderful patch though Xyphas

I hope MM's next project end up being something as great as LBP. And I hope it's at least as original. I mean, some customizable creatures of cloth with incredible charisma and funny animations and proportions jumping around in environments made out of highly stylized materials and objects? I think it's difficult getting more original than that when it comes to Play, Create Share. LBP just manages to hit all the sweet spots and even after 3 years of addiction our love for Sackperson and Craftworld hasn't shown signs of wearing out yet. I'm not surpised that moving on and leaving LBP is a hard idea to wrap our heads around.2011-11-18 07:44:00

Well, if they ever do get round to making LBP3 I would like to see a mechanic that allows you to put water in a container or an otherwise specified position; "localised" water if you will.

I also second the notion of a save system being implemented, but there is enough of a workaround at the moment for this not to be too much of a problem.

There should also be an option that supports the first person camera method rather than being something the creator has to work against!

I would personally like to see a sticker "shaper", where you can make your own stickers and decide what shape they will be, rather than always having to have a rectangular photo.

I'm done!

Yohoohoho~ I think I may be one of the rare people who could not care less about LBP getting a 3D mode. I'm happy with 2.5D. now I'd not complain if they added a 3D mode as long as 2.5D mode is still there. but i still don't need 3D mode myself for any of my game ideas. *mew

Go buy the Move-pack. MM already made a custom sticker creation in there. and we all know MM well enough that they won't give us a normal non Move version of it any time soon. Also LBP-vita will have it built in though, and from what i understand we can share the vita stickers with LBP2 most likely. *mew

I would but I don't have, nor can I afford the Move controller. Or can we do this without said controller...? If we can then i'm all in.

I heard this a while back, but a pod with extra rooms and furnature would be cool, but you would have to buy it as DLC.

i'm currently working around that. make what you want to be your sticker on any material, although one that allows for sharp edges is perfect. now take a photo. then when the photo is safe, use the material you used as the template for your sticker to stamp into another material and then take that stamp to cut out the shape in sticker panel material. once that is done you then use the photo and stick it on the sticker panel shape. use the grid.

Here's the thing, to you people who want 3D:
It wouldn't be the same LittleBigPlanet
The game, it's essence, everything, is built around the 2.5D/3 layer idea. Dodging into the background to avoid projectiles, etc! It wouldn't be LBP, if it's in 3D.

I kind of hope they don't make a LBP3. It would likely just be a quest for more money like the sequel to Space Balls: the Movie.2011-12-07 02:44:00

You can do it without the controller as long as you have the cash to buy the pack, but you'll have to modify the game or controller which is against the EULA to some respects.

If you really want to buy the move controller.

As others have said. Support for the 3D cam to rotate and be easier to make would be a great patch. No real need for full 3D.

Weather effects

Separate studios for painting and music.
You make your stuff out of create mode, save it and use it (makes you spare some thermo and hassles)

Common glitches (Extra Layer, Rotate objects, Cams, Merge) made as official tools
