"The Caverns Of Aiyakaku..."

Archive: 1 post

This level hasn't been played in the past 4 weeks since I published it and I don't know why so I want it to be known, sadly there isn't much to say about it.

THIS LEVEL IS REALLY COMPLICATED SO I'M WRITING THE STEPS. I need more players but I'm guessing it's not played because of how complex it is.

This level doesn't have much of a story, like most of my levels based in the jungle. But it comes in 3 parts...
The first part is getting in to the cave
The second part is getting deeper in to the cave and fighting the boss
The third part is the end of the level.

Level description:
"Take a walk into the wild side. Venture through the jungles into the village of Aiyakaku and teach a demon who is boss!"

At the start of the level you meet Daxter who complains to you about the earthquakes and the damage that they are doing. He also states that a monster in the caves is causing them.

You then go through a bit and meet "Awkward Alex" who says that the SunFlower Girl's monkeys will take you up into the caverns where the demon is hiding.

Although his name is 'Awkward Alex', he is telling the truth. The monkeys on the flying chair are real.
Enter the caves and jump down the hole, equip your creatinator and shoot at the blue clay wall/ceiling.
The bounce pad becomes activated, you can now use it.

Now... If you did the smart thing and disabled the fire balls like I did, you're in luck as the only way to die is falling into the fire. But if you didn't pull that lever, have fun defending yourself from them.

Anyway, jump down the next hole into the leaves.
You have two choices, under water or the shortcut, they both end up with a race.
Under water you have to move the squares to the places they need to be before you can open up the passages.

Then you have to jump up the MASSIVE cliff side using only bounce pads.
Once again, if you disabled fire balls, you're lucky. If you didn't, you're screwed.

On the next bit, I forgot to make the fire balls disable-able. But luckily it's only 2.

--------
Part 2 of the level:
- The first bit is fairly straightforward so I don't need to write anything.
.... You go past about 7 bounce pads and a massive rectangle sponge. You can either use the bounce pads or grab on to the sponge to avoid the fire. There is a sticker switch here that opens up the passage you just went past and gives you free gifts.

Then, the WATERFALL.
Basically straightforward as all you have to do is jump down and grab the lowest sponge.
Then press the switch down below and use the bounce pad that is now moving to get back up.
Climb up them sponges then shoot the marked wall with the paintball gun.

Next, this is tricky. But the boss is near!
Just use the bounce pads and grappling hook to get to the other side of the room and then jump up to the top and meet the boss.

This one is inspired by the Collector on LBP1, avoid the bombs and the balls of fire.
Shoot him with electricity until he is dead. May take a few hundred lives.
Then it takes you to part 3, where all is calm again. WOODY of all people congratulates you.
Use the Da-Vinci Specs sticker on the wooden board to open a shortcut or go the long under-water way into the cave.

Just keep going through and avoiding the fire balls while using grappling hook until the end.

---------------
To start with, there is rain on the level. But you can change that by turning the valve right at the start.
Then go up the cave on the left hand side until you get to the switch that disables fireballs.

Hope this helps and gets more plays to my level because i need more publicity.
