Poster made by AdenRamuldan, and request aswell as the outcome delivered by Sackgirlsrule. Thanks a lot guys!

Hello, one and all. This is Dragonvarsity, my friend DarkCloudRepeat and I would like to introduce you to a new level competition, (we might have more in the future, althoug hI can't promise any of that, we'll at least have this. This contest's theme is, wait, it's not a theme, it's TWO themes, or mroe, mashed together. That might sound confusing, so read on if you wish, and I'll do a better job at explaining it for you.

Now, contradiction might not fit perfectly for the diea we're representing. As wikipedia states.....

a contradiction consists of a logical incompatibility between two or more propositions. It occurs when the propositions, taken together, yield two conclusions which form the logical, usually opposite inversions of each other

So, obviously, our idea for it is not exactly like what people refer to, but instead using contradictions for different kinds of themes. When I say this, I do not mean one theme after another, that's like a story mode! I mean, mashing themes/art styles together to produce a nice level. Here are some examples though, just incase. (These are not real levels, simply ideas that could possibly work for this competition)

Name: The Royal Galactic Palace
Description: When Queen elizabeth the 59th decides to move her royal palace onto the moon, things go unexpected. Traveelling Aliens find your kingdom, and take over, terrorizing the people, aswell as adding space parts to make it more homely. Make your way through the palace, and defeat the alien king once and for all! [This is a combination of British Architecture/clothing for bots and a thheme of futurustic space technology, aswell the high-tech alien objects/bots that try to inhabit it

Name: The Sherrif and the Sandworm
Description: Brought to an old old town with a cocky sherrif by the name of Lonnie Mcpherson, you must help hm and the other townsfolk fight the evil creatures that have hibernated underground for centuries, awoken by recent drilling. Defeat the queen nesting below with an epic duell, and restore the town back to it's normal self. [This is a combination of the Wild West sort of theme while adding all kinds of weird creatures that could've existed as dinosaurs]

So those are the examples. The plot is pretty simple. You do something, enemy finds out, enemy tries attacking, and you have to defeat 'em, but that's with a lot of things. Hopefully you get the idea though. Incase you're wondering how it'll be judged, click the spoiler below.

1. Design- This will account for the effort put into the level, trying to focus greatly on things that bring the level to life, such as the combined themes, possible music, sound effects, lighting, cutscenes, any characters you might wanna add, etc.

2. Playthrough- Not only do you want a great looking level that works together in some of the fields listed above, but you also want people to have fun playing it. This doesn't mean you cannot amp up the challenge. I LOVE some real challenging levels (for reference, try some stuff from L1GhTmArE or CaptainCowboyHat) but there's a point where it's just so very close to impossible, I'd have to add you and go into create to see the rest of the level, but do make sure it's not to where you have to try hard to die, as walking forward all day is no fun. Playthrough also deals with boss battles, and make sure you, your friends, and some random dude test your levels over and over. If there are a few glitches that were hard to find, that's different, but if you wor real hard, and the gameplay ends up not as cool as your mind planned out, you have a problem.

3. Creativity - Very important here, as are the other judging criteria, but very important still. This works with the two things above, for example, it works with Design as you want to be creative with your choices of themes/styles, trans;lating certain ones over to LBP if they haven't been much, and using the certain things I've already talked about like SFX, Lighting, etc. For Playthrough, you can have normal platforming, which is alright, but if you want, you can try focusing around certain ways of using things, and it doesn't have to be JUST a platformer. It can be a shooter, a racer, a puzzler, or a score/survival challenge.

4. Overall Effectiveness -Yes, effectiveness is a word. This final way of judging is just for judges to look back and see if whoever might've entered did a good job combining/fusing their themes together, did it work well or was it just okay? So make sure it's all put together nicely!

Judges
----------
1. Dragonvarsity
2. Darkcloudrepeat

Now, onto prizes. You will be able to snag some XP, but we did want to do more than XP, we will be providing a crip 20 dollar PSN code to whoever wins, either by LBPC PM or PSN, but that's up to you. We can also mail it to the winner, but that's entirely up to them. As far as the code goes, either me or Dark cna buy a card for the code, so, since I live in America, if anyone in America wins, I'll get card, and pm 'em code. Now, the sad thing is, when they say cards are 'region locked, they mean 'country locked'. Dark lives in Ireland, so if any winners appen to live in Ireland, he can get card and give code, sadly, that means it doesn't apply to the British.

I've been thinking if there are any other ways. I'm not really sure, so I'm just asking, can you gift DLC/downloadable games? If so, can you gift it to people out of the country, like, people marked under your friend list? If that is possible, then that would be amazing, but I just don't know. anyway, here's prizes, put down better.

1st Place Winner
----------------------
1. $20 PSN Code
2. 5,000 XP

2nd Place Winner
----------------------
1. 2,500 XP

3rd Place Winner
----------------------
1. 1,000 XP

Sorry, I know this post is very long, so if you don't have the time, here's it in a nutshell, a.k.a. the TL;DR version, including the deadline.

1. Contradiction is theme, mix two or more themes together, work hard with any certain details, make it work togetheer, put in some good gameplay, and be creative!

2. 2nd and 3rd place people get some XP, aswell as 1st Place, but 1st place also gets a 20 dollar PSN code. This'll either be from me or my friend DarkCloudRepeat, depending if you live in America or Ireland. Sadly, doens't include people in the U.K., and other countries, which is a major bummer. I'm wonderingif there's a way to gift DLC/Downloadable games to people on your friend list, despite being in another country, or something that'll work. If you know, please contact me.

3. Some examples mixing themes and styles are listed above, click 'em above if your confused, too alzy to copy 'em down here.

4. DarkCloudRepeat and I will be judging

5. The Contest starts when this is psoted, a.k.a. tonight, so that it means, according to my time zone, it starts on November 9th. Due to some people having busy work schedules, I'm making the deadline 12:00 P.M. my time, on the 24th of December, giving you a little more than 45 days to finish the level. You're fine, editing through the contest, but after the deadline, you cannot enter your level or edit it, unless of course there is a bad glitch that you missed before, but make sure to tell us before you edit it. Once the judging is over, you can make any edits you want.

6. You are allwoed to submit more than one level, and we'll judge both, although we can only let one win, and you can make series, but even then, we can can only choose only one level from the series, but still of course, recommend the series if it's good enough.

7. But try to make it a level, I don't wanna be mean, movie levels are great but I'd rather not judge between movie levels and playing levels, I might one day have a level competition dealing with making a movie, but in this case, try to aim for playing. Cutscenes are still fine of course, or an epic intro, or an epic ending, sort of like the great little scenes in stuffwell's "Tales from the Hollows: Feathered Fear" series. Play that if you haven't, it is amazing.

8. I was planning on making an announcement level, but my controller has taken forever to charge, and has only literally lasted a minute or two, and now, charging through all alst night and today, it still won't turn on! I tink there's something messed up with it, so I'll have to get a new controller. No worries concering playing the levels, as I'll get controller soon, and hopefully I'll be able to make an announcement level later in the week.

9. We'll be checking to make sure that your level was published in the time between start and finish, we don't want levels that have already been made way back to be submitted no offence, it's just we want some fresh entries. If you have a level that works with the criteria but it was published a while back, you could still tell us and I could post it here as a highlighted 'true example'. Otherwise though, a level in the process that does or could work with the Contradiction theme owuld be allowed, just make sure you finish it on time! Oh, and umm, no copying oher people's stuff. That goes without saying though, and last but not least, if you're working in a team, and you guys win, decide who gets the card. Unless, I can somehow gift DLC to people in a different country, then, you guys could discuss if multiple people get chosen DLC/downloadable games that in the end, add up to 20 dollars.

10. When publishing your entry, make sure to include [CLC] in the title. If you ant, you can also tell us you posted the level by posting in thi thread, but it isn't necessary.

1. L1GhTmArE for giving me the idea for this contest
2. Darkcloudrepeat for helping me plan this out, willing to buy and give the 20 dollar code for any Ireland winners, and being able to help judge
3. Sackgirlsrules for delviering the request and bringing back the result for what I asked for with the poster
4. AdenRamuldan for putting the font letters and background requested alltogether

Oh my, that would be hilarious, spacemen coming down, and searching through Davinci's place, him giving them an old man get off my property sorta attitude. But that's okay, thank you very much for the support ^^

Sweet, thanks dude. And take your time, as youve got November and a good portion of December.

In other news, I'm gonna get a new controller and charger today, so that should be good.

This idea for a contest is exellent, giving the creators alot of freedom while still limiting them in order to give them that creative boost so many needs in order to get started. I don't think I would be able to enter even if I want to, but meh, good idea.

/Awesome replica of er's post.

This looks great, guys - I'm so glad you've gone ahead with the idea. The contest theme is just so creative, too. I'm sure you'll get some really brilliant levels as entries. Best of luck with it!

BTW, if the winner is from the UK and you haven't found a workaround, I'd be happy to donate a UK PSN card.

Thank shrop, and that's very kind of you about the U.K. deal, although I did ask Cyber (since he had his own level competition with a 20 dollar psn code prize aswell) today concerning workaorunds for people in other countries. In his contest thread he had a while back, he said there could be another prize too, possibly DLC, but he said DLC, not another code to buy DLc, but just DLC. I've seen people refer to DLC prizes, so I assume there must be a way to gift DLC/Downloadable games off the PSN store to people, so I'm just curious if this is possible to people out of your country, considering you already used the coutnry locked code, but you could sill maybe give something with money to winner? idk

Anyway though, shrop, no worries about that, you and all the other people voer there have your own contest to worry about. It's bad enough I pester you with every time I make a thread dealing with the contest or my interviews.

Well, hopefully 45 days will be enough to crack some skulls........and then put them on a genuine rack over your bed. But anyway, I've copied the thread over to Little Big Network and Little Big Planetarium, although if the winner is from over there and doesn't have an LBPC account, I won't be able to provide XP since I have like, nothing over at thsoe two sites

Also, looked around some yesterday and couldn't find anything, but I should be able to get a new controller and charger today.

Hey guys, I apologize for the double post, but I just wanna tell you guys two things. First, I'm sorry I didn't do this earlier, but I have now added another rule to the O.P., concerning about publishing your level. All entries must include [CLC] in the title, and second, I was able to get a wire charger and didn't have to get a new controller. So it was infact the charger, which I had, jammed some xP But yeah, I spent yesterday and today working on the announcementlevel and I am proud to say it is finished.

Don't expect a masterpiece, but it gets the job done somewhat imo.

Minigames work too whether it be score challenges or survival challenges.

Are teamsallowed?

Teams are allowed, but we won't be able to make substitutions for each person, they'll have to decide who would get the 20 bucks, unless of course, gifting DLC is possible on PSN, which I still don't really know.

Sounds like a good idea, best of luck with it! LBPC6 has made a major dent in this competition, so if you just don't have the time, that's fine, but as always, thanks for entering.
