LBP Max Levels?
Archive: 11 posts
Does it not bother anyone, to think that a game marketed for its 'limitless' options only gives each user 20 levels to strut their stuff? Please don't post saying its too much for the server because that's not true other games manage it, or to stop spam. I know it will also take a long time to get the 20 levels made if they are good, but seriously if you wanted to do another one after this you either have to make an new account or delete old levels from being public. Am I the only one this bothers? Nytician. | 2011-11-09 13:22:00 Author: Nytician ![]() Posts: 10 |
I guess it's to make it harder for people to spam hundreds of levels. The biggest level I have backed up is around 500kB so that's the kind of server footprint each level can have. | 2011-11-09 14:12:00 Author: Ayneh ![]() Posts: 2454 |
Fair enough, well I guess the next question is, how do people with more than 20 levels deal with this? Do they upload and take down older levels etc? Thanks, Nytician. | 2011-11-09 19:24:00 Author: Nytician ![]() Posts: 10 |
I guess they consider if it's worth erasing an old level to publish a new one. If for example I had a generic zombie shooter and no slot to publish an artistic platforming level that could pretty well become my masterpiece, I'd erase the former one in hte blink of an eye. Of course it's very rare a serious creator (and by that I mean excluding spammers and copiers) that didn't import all his LBP1 levels into his LBP2 planet managing to fill up all his slots. Even with most levels nowadays taking up more than 1 slot for being actually multiple levels linked, you'd have to work really hard to run out of slots. | 2011-11-09 19:38:00 Author: SnipySev ![]() Posts: 2452 |
Thats true I guess, well aside from this after getting all the achievements etc I guess theres a lot of gameplay still in LBP. Maybe I could have some 'main slots' that barely change and then smaller levels can go in and out. Plus will PS3 backup etc I basicaly have unlimited slots elsewhere. Aside from this i've just thought of the idea of having a level that 'updates' after a while with new content, removing some old content etc. Nytician. | 2011-11-09 19:46:00 Author: Nytician ![]() Posts: 10 |
SnipySev, LBP1 levels don't count with your max levels in LBP2. you can have 20 LBP2 and a few LBP1 one aswell. And Yeah, It takes ages to fill up all the slots if your a perfectionist-in-training..... | 2011-11-09 19:49:00 Author: Valeview ![]() Posts: 1581 |

I've not yet had a problem with the 20published levels limit! As i dont publish things I really dont think people will enjoy playing! Though I have a bad tendancy of starting a new level in my moon, Creating some crazy new idea I have, forgetting about it and doing the same all over! then my moon ends up in all used levels & no names! LOL so i have to go through them all and see whats worth keeping! and i know! i should make a workshop level for them! but meh! its all fun!!! | 2011-11-09 22:41:00 Author: danx87 ![]() Posts: 59 |
If I ever need more space, I'll just take down things like levels where I gave away effects, or trailers for levels that are now out. Last, I would also axe something like a survival level for a full level. Since each full level I make takes about two or more months, it would take me a few years to fill up my 20. Right now, I only consider Jumper an actual level. Everything else I'm my earth was just for fun, even if they took me a while to make. So, for me, 20 is good for now. ![]() | 2011-11-09 23:33:00 Author: CYMBOL ![]() Posts: 1230 |
I just delete levels that nobody plays. | 2011-11-10 12:25:00 Author: lemurboy12 ![]() Posts: 842 |
I would use the first 20 levels to get known/an MM pick, and delete old levels until I do. Once I have an MM Pick, Platinum Trophy, etc, Im making levels for fun, so Id just make a new PSN like Claydohwizard2 | 2011-11-10 13:23:00 Author: Clayton ![]() Posts: 181 |
