CloaknBlaggers Digital Imagery

Archive: 22 posts

Well since other people have been brave enough to show their artwork and modelling skills I thought maybe I would throw a few of my images up here, good bad or ugly!

I work as an architectural designer/technician and have done so now for 11 years, but I have been doodling with digital art software since I was 12 or 13. The vast majority of what I do is self taught which includes all the 3D work, though 90% of my work is done on 2d CAD.

Well deep breath, take a look below and feel free to comment, it's not the best or hopefully not the worst but I hope you find it worth a look.

First some of my work!!

It's actually a composite of both, I took a digital photo and then used 3D studio to add in the bubble and reflection I then used photoshop to add some subtle shadowng to the petals which makes the image a litle more convincing, although if I am perfectly honest I don't think I have the refracton of the bubble qute right, but hey I was just messing around. Thanks for taking the time to look and for all your kind remarks.

This next one Is VERY old, somethng I did on an ATARI-ST way back, I was 17 yrs old at the time.
it's a little fuzzy/blurry because the original is tiny so I had to blow it up!

Very impressive cloak!
I had to resort to using my PS3 browser today, and the only browser feature I like (the zoom) really makes the quality of these images pop on a 51" HD LCD TV. WOW! Please continue sharing. My first Major was Architecture, before switching to Engineering, so I am very curious to see what else you have done.
Thanks for sharing these.

..and thank you very much for taking the time to write such positive comments, and since you asked so nicely here are a couple more.

If you are keen eyed you may spot which one of these is the counterpart to the very first image.

Thanks for sharing these. Your talent was apparent even then.
Seeing the evolution is amazing too.

Wow, thank you very much for your kind words, very few people have ever seen those images or the earlier ones, I never really considered myself as being that talented, just an amateur really, even now when I see some of the other creators work I am blown away by just how good many of them are!

Great stuff mate. Although I've already seen most of your artwork in various stages of completion as we were growing up together, I've never seen the architectural renders in your first post, and I must say that those are highly impressive. You really should be working in game design as an enviromental artist.2011-11-10 19:16:00

Well my friend, do you know what, I think I would love that! Maybe one day I will go hunting for just such a position, or maybe even tomorrow, what the heck! and thanks mate coming from you the compliments mean a lot especially considering your own quite considerable talents!2011-11-10 23:37:00

This exactly, I'm really bad at doing this myself, though studying art at school did help me ignore myself to some extent

It's probably the most simple looking out of all of them but I love your impossible triangle drawing. I almost never see people draw their own optical illusions.

My favorites are the rose and droplets, and the sword in the lake with the castle siloheutte. Very nice, considering what you had to work with. I wonder what they would look like today drawn with a newer graphis app. 2011-11-11 02:29:00
