In my latest level, go into my dreams and find familiar things, but made of wood.

And of coarse, Cactus Guy, isn't he aweshome?

This level is a fairly slow-paced platformer with a few sections I found to be slightly more frustrating than LBP levels usually are. The visuals are pleasing enough, with a quirky cactus asking you why you're in your own dream, and the tune fits the level well.

A few of the puzzles (especially the up-and-over grappling section) took me a few minutes to get through, mostly because I couldn't quite tell if I was doing the right thing. The idea of up-and-over is used so rarely in LBP that I fear people may assume something is missing and give up on the level. Perhaps an arrow-sticker indicating which direction to go would ease possible confusion in this section, and a camera angle pointing to where you're supposed to be landing might help as well.

A couple of the bounce-pad sections were also, in my opinion, unnecessarily tense, as the pads themselves had just enough bounce to get you where you were going. If the feeling was supposed to be one of just barely making it, well done.

All that being said, the level ran smoothly throughout, and was fun to run. While not your typical LBP standard-platformer due to an occasional increase in difficulty, those not turned off by a little challenge should find this a relaxing, if a bit short, run through a weird little desert-ish vision. Good job, and keep refining your style; it's nice to see someone not afraid to break the usual platforming format.

Thanks!

At this stage, I couldn't give a hoot about what anyone thinks about my levels in-game, I'm satisfied with making off-the-wall creations! I'll see about sticking some arrows in on the help, missed that.

Is there any specific level you want the F4F done on?

Hi there! I'm writing this review as I play the level (and not looking at my computer), so bear with me

Opening was nice, if a little empty. The word 'RACE' seems a bit random, but I imagine that just means there'll be one later. I think you should use an infinite-life checkpoint as the entrance if you're introducing hazards immediatly (you can do this by activating it in Create mode. Stick a NOT gate's output to it's input, as well as an infinite life checkpoint to activate it (remember to deletet the NOT gate awfterwards)).

OK, past the first spikes and onto the next chekpoint. The visuals are very unique, I'll give you that. Met the cactus dude, he was pretty funny. I look forward to seeing him again. lol, random advert as you do. The help section here (after the advert) is a bit hard to see. Like the little green effect on the checkpoint, that's nice. Had no idea what to do at this section, so used the HELP thing. I understand what to do now but it's still incrediably difficult, and the help message blocks Sackboy a bit. finally did it, that took forever. Now I ahve to do it again, which doesn't seem very appealing. Ok, got over that. Onto the cool stair tihngy with the spikes on every 'step'. I can immediatly see that if I fail this, I'll have to go to that annoying swingy bit, so pelase add a checkpoint somewhere up here. Cleared the first time and reached the nexzt chekpoint (I'm at the big LBL sign now).

Ontot he bit with the blue bounce pads, the previous bit was very fun and interesting. The blue bouncepads seem a bit odd seeing how low they go, but it's nothing major. And that's it.

Overall, a good level. Graphically it was great, and the gameplay was fun. There was however, that very irritating bit with the swinging up, and no appearances from the cactus was upseting. A happy face from me, with a few improvments I can see this being a great level.

EDIT: That's the last time I type not looking at my computer, the amout of typos D:

Oh, you needn't bother with a F4F on my behalf; I don't have any LBP2 levels published yet; I just make an effort to find the levels in the Showcase that haven't been reviewed. And as far as not giving a hoot what other people think, the sentiment is almost shared; I care what people think about my work, but not enough to stop me from doing it or to get me to do it another way. 2011-11-04 05:20:00

First off, that's a sticker switch for the race. I should probably mention that.

Originally, the 'up-and-over' section had no checkpoint until the big LBL sign. I decided that since even I found it difficult it was a bit excessive. I've also got to edit the first one a bit and allow a larger drop.

And at the end I need to stick a camera it, I have this epic backdrop and no one can see it.

Thanks!

Much appreciated then. You go make a level involving flying camels or something like that.

Argh! My awesome ad-post has disappeared! I'm gonna have to fix this with and insane edit.

Now THERE it is. Happiness.

Yep, no problem. I don't mind doing one or two but I'm going to have a lot of work after Sunday. Just send me a message on PSN when it's released.
