So I was left a review on my new level. The person rated it "boo" and left a message that said SUXX. Then he or she hearted it. Any thoughts?2011-11-02 14:08:00

They are. I've been rated down for a undeniably *positive* review (while I also yay'd and hearted the level in question). Also, reviews with questions have been left with boos (I asked about the logic in a certain level on the Cool Pages, and was left to my own accord with one single boo).

Those incidents I've mentioned have probably been caused by jealousy and belief on one's infallibility.. but for that, I really cannot offer a rational explanation (other than perhaps multiple players use that single account? I've seen several of them.. including one that forbid me to play with his younger brother because "I SAY SO! >.<" )

It happens. I think that person is either:
A) Desperate for a H4H
B) Stupid
Some people really just don't know how to play LBP. I mean, there's no correct way, but there's a proper way. First of all, I would tell that individual not to leave such rude and vague reviews, as those don't really deserve to be published. It's happened to me once. I took a look at all of his levels, and to be honest, they all sucked. They were copies, H4Hs, costume levels, free stuff levels, etc.
The reason people may dislike an obviously positive review is because they may not like the level. So what they think is that "My opinion is the most important. I'm going to idiotically boo every constructive review on this level because I don't want to see progress in it."
So I would ignore them. The truth is that they're just jealous and want attention, or are simply conceited. Everyone should get their opinion out, it just depends on what your opinion is .

This is odd, i haven't got to much review attention to my levels, i have however left 600+ reviews and read many many and i find this happens every now and again, its like this club of secret boo'ers come to levels simply to confuse the reader and or creator, i don't know why, all i can do is laugh and keep a puzzled look on my face lol2011-11-02 17:42:00

Either their controller slipped and accidentally hit the heart button, or they're just an idiot. 2011-11-02 18:41:00

I always yay reviews left on my stages. And notice some get a lot of boos. The ones that get boos (that are positive) are from well known creators, so I guess that they are just being stalked... I have seen boo'd and hearted sort of stuff and I had accidentally boo'd something I meant to yay, usually I notice straight away and fix it.2011-11-02 20:57:00

I have someone who boo's every one of my reviews with 4 accounts regardless of the level or review I guess it could also just be a group of people but every other day they come back to my planet to boo the new ones. It's really annoying but I guess I should admire their determination to hate and at least someone periodically visits my planet.2011-11-02 21:06:00

Did you view this on LBP.me?

If you rate or heart a level, LBP.me will show it and any changes they make, except if they remove it. Say someone hearts the level, then unhearts it, LBP.me will still say they hearted it. :tophat:

People are more likely to be stupid than odd. Don't worry, about everybody who makes a level gets those dumb reviews independently of the quality of said level. They are trolls. They aren't looking for anything logical, like hearts. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned or negotiated with.

Some players just want to watch Craftworld burn.

It is interesting that in one of the new (popular) levels, one hour after publishing, appeared 4-7 booes at each review, while the level has only 1 boo. Obviously there is a group that works that "job".

A strange hearting ? Several times I got a heart when a person wanted to boo my review, but accidentaly marked field below.

I try and yay all comments/reviews for my levels, as long as they're positive and/or constructive.

The only comments are boo are the ones that say "MM pick, whos with me?". Even if I think it's an awesome level, the folk who post those comments irritate me. It's the same as people posting comments on the Facebooks just to get "likes".

My theory?

A troll left that comment to provoke you. Then they hearted the level to make it quick and easy to access it at a later date, intending to check back and see if you had responded to their trolling. If you're regularly trolling a lot of people then it makes no sense to do a search each time for the levels or authors who you're targetting.

By hearting your level, the troll is effectively bookmarking it, adding it to his "hit list".

Ah, schooled in the ways of the Troll you are, but a truly skilled Troll would just add it to the queue. That way they can bookmark it without giving it the benefit of a heart.

Nah, the goal of the troll is not to confuse, but to anger and annoy. These are the only things it knows and anything beyond that is getting into human territory.

Once you play a queued level, it gets removed from the queue list.

A hearted level always remains on the hearted list.

And I'm not exactly "schooled" in the ways of the troll. That would imply that I have practiced trolling, which I certainly haven't. It was just a theory, based on my own musings about why people have frowned my levels at the same time as hearting them.
