Just an old school platformer with some new school tools. lbp.me link is: http://lbp.me/v/650etm Thanks... Ted http://lbp.me/v/10162 http://www.ted-kyte.com/download/LBPPictures/BG1.jpg http://www.ted-kyte.com/download/LBPPictures/BG2.jpg | 2011-11-01 14:43:00 Author: Muskwa_1 Posts: 213 |
This level is a straightforward platformer, no story to be told here. Solid mechanics have the level functioning smoothly throughout, although a few of the jumping segments felt a bit underdone (particularly the section wherein the platforms take a dive under the fog; a good concept, it just could have done with a bump in the visual department). The only real gripe I had with this was the very slight lag coming from, I assume, all the blue neon and lighting. It gave the level a great feel of austerity to have only two colors used as well as they were, but the precision required from time to time was held back by the gameplay stutter. If this was remedied, the level would be a blast. As it is, it's a fun level, with solid mechanics and platforming. I had a good time running through it, and will probably return to do so again. | 2011-11-02 19:48:00 Author: EvilWuun Posts: 152 |
Thanks EvilWuun... Yes I too noticed the lag. I will see if there is something I can do about it. Ted | 2011-11-04 16:28:00 Author: Muskwa_1 Posts: 213 |

OK here goes my feedback. I'm writing this as I'm playing it (and not looking at my computer), so bear with me First thing I noticed is 'teleports' is spelt wrong. Also, could you not sense what I assume is the sensor switch to 'Require all players' and remove the need for the message? Anywho, looks nice so far. Moving onto the teleporter. That was very quick. A sound effect would have been nice, but not vital. Love the checkpoint. The thing with the gear is awesome, well done. Onto the spinning circles section, nice of you to add arrows. Perhaps make the motor bolts invisible, they don't seem to fit the theme well. finished the circle bit and thouroughly enjoyed it, well done. the next teleporter had a sound effect, which was nice. Maybe there was one on the first one that I missed. Love how the electricity glows in this section, though againt he wobble bolts seem a bit misplaced. The bit with the red blocks was a nice challenge (especially for me, as I stopped to go and type and realsied I couldn't). Maybe a checkpoint inbetween the two bits though? Thorugh the next teleporter. Wow this bit is zoomed out, I love it when people do that. Completed this section without much difficulty, but it was still great fun. Through the next teleporter. What does the switch do? Waiting for the blocks os taking a long time, perhaps have more than one pathway going at once (so when the first one reaches about half way, start another one)? Other than that, not much to say on the block section other than it was fun. Through the next teleporter. this section seemed a little basic compared to the others, maybe put it closer to the beginning? Through the next teleporter (this is making it really easy for me to type out, thanks). I liked the walkway thing, it looked cool. Really enjoyed the bounce pad bit. Through the next teleporter. This section seemed to annoy me a bit, the first bounce pad goes too high and you keep missing the first platform because of it. Throguh the next teleporter. Bit woth the grapple hook was great, well done. Through the next teleporter, ah, that's the end. Overall, a very fun level. A few minor niggles, but I'm sure they could be remedied eaisily. Well done, a heart and a happy face from me. EDIT: A level link in the scoreboard? RAAAGE | 2011-11-04 20:00:00 Author: kirbyman62 Posts: 1893 |
Didn't quite earn my heart, but it was close! What I liked: The simple blue and grey design looked very neat The platforming gameplay was enjoyable and there were some very nice sections (eg the part where the cubes came out of the wall) The checkpoints looked very nice What I didn't like: The music, jazz and technology don't mix! Kinda being picky, but at the beginning where the door opens, there's some RED Everything felt very slow paced, especially the rotating circles at the beginning and the pencil writing at the end F4F on either of the levels in my sig | 2011-11-04 21:44:00 Author: PGdafrog Posts: 277 |
