I got the YLOD and apparently the LBP 1/2 saves are locked, so I can't back them up onto a new ps3. Is there a way to back up the saves onto a new ps3? I don't want to lose all my levels and pins and stuff...

Only way to recover the data will be to revive the console (which usually kills any warranty) and then use the ingame backup to get the unlocked save files... Thanks, this is the second time I've gotten the YLOD on this ps3, so I've already voided my warranty But the in game backup makes copyable backups? If so, if I can get on my ps3 long enough to get them copied over and for it not to break I'll be safe.

yeah you can transfer them to a usb stick or other device and then they can be imported onto a new ps3 backup saves to save data rather than gamedata so it allows for a copy option Regards Dave
