Controlling 2 sackbots with each stick
Archive: 5 posts
Ok so i have an idea for a level involving you controlling 2 sackbots, but i need a way to make it so that the right control stick can move one of them, and the left control stick moves the other one, I could make the 2nd sackbot move with the right stick, but when i moved the left stick it made them both move, instead of just the first one, anyone know how to do this? | 2011-10-30 21:45:00 Author: jjdragon Posts: 257 |
Put a controllinator on each sackbot, then a 3rd on a piece of holo (connect this ones joystick outputs to the joystick inputs on the controllinator of the other 2) this should allow movement for individual sticks. Pros: easy quick method, good for puzzle games cons: sackbots will fail to work again if destroyed... wireless adaption would be needed | 2011-10-30 23:54:00 Author: ForgottenEnigma Posts: 1414 |

For an easily modified way to have a sackbot respawn, check out this tutorial by Comphermc (go figure, right?): http://www.littlebigplanetarium.com/topic/226-sackbot-checkpoints/ If you're unfamiliar with the whole "hologram-DCS-follows-the-sackbot" thing, check out this tutorial by Lemun; it's at least a really good example of the practical way to accomplish this: http://www.littlebigplanetarium.com/topic/25-sackbots-now-with-pictures/ I hope I'm not gonna get strung up by the neck for linking two Planetarium threads.... -.^ | 2011-10-31 19:05:00 Author: EvilWuun Posts: 152 |
Just to say, I actually recently made a part of a level based on the concept of controlling two sackbots, one with each stick and wirelessly. I'll explain it here although you've probably already solved it by now; in my level I had the main controlinator that my sackboy entered set up to transmit the appropriate colour, and within that main DCS I hooked up the outputs (up/down and left/right) to an OR gate (one for each stick) which in turn was hooked up to a tag (again, one for each), both of which must be labeled differently. Then, on each of your sackbots, place a tag sensor hooked up to the INPUT of THE LEFT ANALOGUE STICK ONLY. The tag sensor must be set to signal strength and have enough range to sense it's corresponding tag. Very simple! I hope this helps someone! | 2011-11-07 00:16:00 Author: RainbowtipsFort Posts: 144 |
