Banner ads

I realize we need banner ads to help pay for the site. But this one here, I find mildly inappropriate. If someone were to post a picture of this in a thread, I'm sure they would be admonished. Is there no one who screens these banners before they are used?2011-10-30 18:32:00

I'm not sure which one you're referring to. However, if you can snag a screenshot of the ad (and the URL it links to), I can make sure it's blocked.

And, yes, the ads do go through a screening process, but due to the way they are screened sometimes one will slip through. Not much we can do on our end other than point it out to them so they can block it.		2011-10-31 03:53:00

Hmmm if its an ad the biorogue finds distasteful it makes me want to click it all the more. I'm quite interested in what the ad was for. I do know that I get ads for ANZ bank so I guess it is localised to some extent.2011-10-31 06:44:00

Here's another one. I won't post this one, but it is a banner ad for "best mind quiz" and it says "do you see the lamp" If you've never seen the optical illusion before, if you're not looking for the lamp it looks like a woman laying down and, well...it's not good. Seriously? The screening process doesn't seem to rigorous to me.2011-11-05 23:20:00

I've seen these, too. But since I'm 17 and often forget that this is a 'children's' site (Since most of you are 15+... ._.), I ignore them and never thought to bring attention to it.

I see a 'Penny stocks' one all the time... It's not really offensive. But why would a site like this need an ad for that? How many little kids are going to go and gamble 1000$ on penny stocks? On second thought... How many little kids are going to go play the stock market?		2011-11-06 03:16:00

that's exactly what I did..2 wks ago. I just hit refresh and the same dang banner is at the top of the page staring me in the face. I don't mean to be rude but come on, My kid is sitting here beside me and the page loads with butt cheeks staring at us. Nice.

I just realized I don't have banner ads anymore because I donated.

Which is pretty sweet, I know not every one can do this and the issue here is age apropiate ads for people that probably can't donate. But I thought I'd gloat mention it.		2011-11-17 05:50:00
