The video above discusses the Senate version of the PROTECT IP Act, but the House bill that was introduced TODAY is much much worse.

It'll give the government new powers to block Americans' access websites that corporations don't like. The bill would criminalize posting all sorts of standard web content -- music playing in the background of videos, footage of people dancing, kids playing video games, and posting video of people playing cover songs.

He's talking about taking over the world with his corporation, Peanut Co. He has some pretty tough competition, though, like Planter's peanuts (http://blogs.families.com/media/planters%20peanuts.jpg). It could get pretty ugly IMO, so I suggest you don't apply for a job with Rock yet.

I mean, look at how big the internet is today. Even if they found a way to censor it all, that is going to generate a little... Massive world-wide rage...

And do not forget the rule of routing: Internet treats censorship as a form of failure, and routes around it by a variety of ways (Tor, alternate IP addresses and domains, Freenet, BitTorrent, WASTE, IRC, etcetcetc.. there are so many ways to go around simple domain filtering). Even killing the payment channels wont stop some of these, because the cost is so low to a single person that he/she might not need any support besides his day job.

Which means: the industry is just wasting money and patience; and actually creates animosity among those who also pay for the industry.. which then (should) lead them to be SOL
