Information

Those of you who played Metal Gear Solid 3 will recognise this immediately, the infamous, monstruos, metal tank nicknamed Shagohod (russian play on words for 'step-walker&apos, Dont be Fooled though, this ain't no regular tank!

Backstory
The Shagohod was designed as a nuclear-capable super-tank developed by the Soviet weapons specialist Nikolai Sokolov. In parallel development with the Metal Gear, the Shagohod is selected for military deployment over its rival. The body is made up of two front and two rear sections. The front uses a pair of drills on hydraulic legs to pull the bulky rear section which houses a ballistic missile.

The vehicle boasts weaponry including two 12.7 mm DShKM heavy machine gun and one additional turret mount for anti-aircraft work, six 9K112 Kobra surface-to-air guided missiles on its back, a 100 barrel volley gun and a single SS-20 "Sabre" IRBM (Intermediate-Range Ballistic Missile) kept in the long tube-like missile silo on its back.

The perceived advantage of Shagohod over traditional silos is its mobility and thus relative stealth. As a mobile weapon. Nuclear submarines carrying ballistic missiles represent almost the same capability; the reason the Shagohod was considered such a threat was that it represented an ability that the U.S. did not have. It also cannot be detected by spy planes or satellites.

When complete, the Shagohod weighs 152.5 tons, is 75 feet (22.8 meters) long by 27 feet (8.2 meters) high by 21 feet (6.4 meters) wide, has a maximum road speed (without the rocket engines being activated) of 50 miles per hour (80 kilometers per hour) and a range of 400 miles (650 kilometers). A crew of two is usual, though one can drive it if necessary. The plan was to mass-produce the Shogohod and deploy them all over the Soviet Union and throughout all the countries of the Eastern Bloc presumably to start World War Three and assure Soviet supremacy.

The Vehicle
The LBP version is in my mind as close to the real thing as it can get, the detail is the same right down to the camo
pattern as you can see in the Comparison below:

As for operation, it has all the features except for one which I will talk about later, here are a few just to get a taster:
Working Rear Module Seperation
Working 'transformation' to Crawl Mode
All Weapons mentioned above
Working Boost Mode
3D Camera for View just like you would see if you were driving it
I will ramble on about how to use each one later. Oh and if you are wondering how much logic it has, il give you a hint, look below:

The Level
Picture a Underground Soviet Cold War testing facility, and add Metal Gear Solid, that'l give you a good clue as to what this level includes, Detail wise its very solid (get my pun? :3), but we've had to limit stickers in order to keep the Sticker Glitch to a minimum. (By the way I would appreciate it Mm if you would fix your D4mn game! )

There is a basic Controls section in the level showing what buttons does what, but it does not go in as much depth as I will go in this thread. Thanks to hemflowhotflop for creating the Epic Metal Gear Solid 3 Theme Remix specially for this level. Also I've hidden around some Easter Eggs including hidden Prize Bubbles, ranging from easy to quite hidden.

and thats about all I'm going to say for now about the level.

SHAGOHOD User Manual
Here I've written a short manual on how to drive/use its features, driving this thing can be complicated at times
Controls:
Triangle = Enter/Exit the Vehicle
Cross = Close/Open Hatch
Circle = Ep!c R0ar!
L1 = Cycle through the Weapons and Features
R1 = Fire/Use the selected Weapon and Feature
L2 = Cycle 3D Camera Modes between Forward, Backwards, Off
R2 = Boost Mode! (note this turns it on for a set period)
L3 = Toggle Crawl Mode
R3 = Nothing! Coz Mm are evil D:
Left Stick =
Up/Down = -
Left/Right= Drive Forward/Backwards
Right Stick=
Up/Down = Aim Weapon
Left/Right= -

Weapons and Features
12.7 mm DShKM MGs = Fully automatic, aim with Right Stick, in 3D Camera mode, Machine-Guns have lasers.

9K112 Kobra Missiles = fires a barrage of missiles from the back, in 3D Camera Mode, area where targets will hit will flash red.

100 Barrel Volley Gun= fires a barrage of bullets at high speeds , good for shooting at far away targets.

Seperate Rear Module= Press R1 to seperate from the rear module and drive the front only, this will give you much faster speed, but you can only use DShKM MGs, Volley Gun and Anti-Air Gun. to re-connect back to the rear module, reverse into it until it is fully touching and press R1 again.

SS-20 Sabre IRBM = Aim the Silo with Right Stick, do not move anything and tap R1, the front and back of the silo will open and afterwards will fire the nuke, note that the nuke is shown with movie camera for epic effects. after nuke hits the screen will go all apocalyptic and you wont be able to move until everything has cleared. prefferably fire the nuke from the rightmost part of the level as to avoid the nuke hitting the side of the level and bugging out.

Bost Mode = Simply press it once and watch as the Shagohod speeds up really fast, however as fuel is so precious it wont last too long. good for ramming tanks though

Crawl Mode = once you are in the raised crawl mode, you can slowly crawl forward or backwards, this mode is very useful when you want to hit targets which are farther away.

Bugs
Oh noes, the part I've been certainly dreading for, but for the sake of acknowledging some common problems, il post the most common bugs/problems I've had here.

Firing SS-20 While Moving/Boosting
Because my system involved the nuke actually being in the silo at all times, I havent really managed to make the logic work for this, sorry MGS3 fans , il try my best when I get some ideas flowing on how to fix it.

SS-20 Hits the side of the level/end roof
because of some weird bug, and my wacky complicated logic, theres a chance that the nuke willl hit and 'explode', but the screen will stay white and you wont be able to move. again il have to think of a solution. but for now just restart.

Tank Enemies in the Level
I've had some trouble with the enemies in the level, at first I was gonna use some wacky mechs, but they didnt really work out because of lag, overheating and sticker glitching. so I pimped out one of my old tanks, and they work a little better, but the thermo limits me to about one and a half bar to use for enemies, so im limited to a max of 4 tanks emmited at once, and they will emmit a new one and the old one will dissapear before they reach the level end. this isnt really a bug but it kinda annoys me

if theres any more bugs, which there probably is, please let me know, and in case of Sequels, Any of you played Metal Gear Peace Walker? Remember PUPA? >

I am tempted to make one, but for now Please try the level, its much better to see it with your own eyes than to read about it lawl. Have fun!
