OUT NOW! (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=64758-MOVE-The-Printz-Diaries-Chapter-One-Apples-amp-Diamonds&p=945584)

I've been working on this project for months now, and finally I'm at a stage where I can release the first chapter of Printz's story for play.

If you're unfamiliar with the story, you can watch the Prologue, which will fill you in.

Prologue Reviews

A beautiful telling of the story Ria, fantastic use of layers, voices, music, everything just goes together so well!

Wow, what a beautifully creative and inspiring cutscene! The environments, characters and humour are exquisite! No-one tells stories like you Ria. Awesome job!

Where's the "Wow" tag? Cannot wait for this! An original story that stands on its own regardless of LBP, I am really looking forward to this.

The series is a point-and-click adventure, heavy on storyline and dialogue, and requires a certain amount of patience and puzzle-solving skill to progress. It's loosely based on games like 'Monkey Island' and 'King's Quest', and like the former contains a fair amount of tongue-in-cheek humour.

If you're expecting a serious, dramatic tale, you won't find it here. What you will find is an irreverant, fun, and light-hearted take on the point-and-click genre.

Gameplay Mechanics:

Point-and-click gameplay using the Move cursor
Partial exploration of the level using traditional controls (but Move is required)
Dialogue puzzles
Item & Inventory Usage
And to cap it all off... A Point-And-Click Boss!

Level Contributors:

radio_statik: Composer & Co-Creator
Calyst_aayla: Costume designer
MuddledMuppet: Guest Voice Actor

This first level is an exploration into what I can achieve using LBP Move tools. In further levels (there are five chapters planned in total) I hope to expand on my experience and progress further, exploring more possiblities and expanding the gameplay as much as possible.

Above all, I really hope you enjoy this story. These characters have been going through my mind a lot over the past year, and I'm thrilled to finally have reached a point where I can start to tell their story.

Well the fact that the move is required will alienate at least half of the people that could play this level, though i haven't seen the games design to say that it could function without the move. I did play a couple point and click adventures before the move DLC...

But the prolouge was pretty interesting and I have a move so i will check it out when its done

I'm aware of that, I'm still working on making it dual compatible but I fear that my thermo is overloaded already. The chapter currently consists of three linked levels, and whilst making a dualshock cursor is hardly difficult, getting the game mechanics to work with either move or dualshock is rather more problematic due to the system I have set up. Hopefully I can get it working soon though, as I would like it to be playable for anyone 2011-10-26 14:24:00

As I posted on Planetarium:

Played it as a tester and I can highly recommend this level once it is released. It is full of funny dialogue and storytelling, using superb voice acting. The clues and hints, the inventory, the various point and click controls and loads of little easter eggs invite you to explore every nuance. The tongue in cheek humor had me laughing out loud multiple times and the various characters and the situations they are in are both clever and charming.

You can't afford to miss this level.
