Marley was Dead....

So begins the classic victorian ghost story written by Charles Dickens, the tale of the miserly Ebeneezer Scrooge... a mean cold hearted sack who leaves a trail of misery in his wake.
Here the re-telling is given a LBP twist in a movie level combining pathos and humour with an original script. Lots of special effects and some prizes to assisst folk in their own movie making endeavours.
Have fun, this is my first movie level and a great learning experience.. all feedback appreciated and reciprocated.

Awesome series of movies m8, brilliant use of sticker material and decorations. The sets were excellent and really help carry the christmas vibe and the sackbot acting was top notch too. Fling into the mix Enochs crazy humour and you've got a recipe for a really enjoyable movie! One of the best movies out their in my opinion and I hope it does well m8, hearted x3!2011-10-24 12:14:00

Nice Mr.F...I see what you did there. lol! As you play through you'll find lots of sly little references to other works by Dickens, see if you can spot them?

thanks a lot Bruce means a lot coming from the creator of the War of the Worlds Movie series, a must play. tell Christian to check it out and marvel at my sequenced church bells lol!

The sackbot prize with front lighting would be a great asset to many movie levels, really throws focus onto that actor. great job on your new level dude.

got it queued and can't wait to see it.

Look forward to your opinion, has a touch of whimsy like a Doctor Who meets Dickens episode ( more bribery to get you to play!)

I was still chuckling about the hair thing half an hour after I played it, it was so randomly funny. That and the fact you published it at Halloween. Not one to go with the tide are you Enoch : )2011-10-24 18:13:00

LOL! What?! Am I only one to sell my hair for a couple of bucks to buy beer?
Yep it is a little early but as it's a ghost story (part 3 is quite scary) i thought it wouldn't be too out of place. it is funny to click on LBP.me and see it trending though.
Thanks for the play JJ, keep an eye out for my proper christmas level "Darth Vaders Festive Frolics featuring dancing stormtroopers!" later this year....

thanks dude, not to be confused with muddle muppets future CC project though.
This is a completely finished work (complete with poor jokes and random humour!)consisting of 3 parts that can be played sequentially or as seperate levels.

A great little series here, with fantastic set pieces and spot on sticker work and decor. Everything flowed well and the dialogue was spot on and had that enoch touch to it. Loved all the humor and how you put your own spin on a classic. Great job and keep up the good work mate!2011-10-24 21:12:00

Thanks Shookie, tried my best to add some sticker intergration into the background to give a greater depth. Hopefully the setting suited the whimsical vibe to take attention away from the bad jokes.

Outstanding job on the remake of one of the greatest Christmas stories with a LBP2 twist.

VISUALS:
The usage of the lighting, stickers, decorations and materials are well put, and some of them created awesome effects including the Move Pack's waterfall material that has an brilliant falling down effect. I noticed that some parts of the scenes in part 1 has some delay that shows me around the starting checkpoint, so that should be fixed. Also, this level lacks commas in English grammar.

SOUND:
The music choices are wonderful in this movie, and who could forget the lady sounding like a lion in the ending scene.

OVERALL:
This movie is nicely done with clever humor and awesome effects. A yay.

Thanks for the play and feedback JA, will be checking out your latest Cybernetic Adventures installment and feeding back.
This is my first movie level and I wanted to get the effects and music synched just right to add a measure of originality as in the falling sequence and 360 rotating cam shots. I like the cut backs to the player, it helps give a feeling of being part of a level experience rather than just being a passive viewer hence the bed ride, falling tunnel, and final sequence which all allow for a little jumping slapping activity within each movie segment.
Couldn't think of a better voice to express the lioness type anger in defence of her pride lol! Was a great learning experience making this and I might make another movie sometime.

Have to start off by saying you captured the Christmas theme perfectly, from the materials and decorations to the actors' clothing, everything molded seamlessly together to create that truly special Christmas feeling. Every December, I try to watch old Christmas movies or TV shows from my childhood that remind me of that feeling. You offered it here perfectly.

But my favorite part of the level was probably the sackbots. Usually their acting is either a hit or miss, but your execution with them was great. They seemed very natural and bundled with the great costumes and humor made for an even more special film.

Top trilogy Enoch. The first thing that hit me was the set design. A lot of attention to detail has been applied here. One of the lasting images is the scene shot through the stain glass window with the orange candle light lighting the sack peoples faces from below. Add in some great sack bot animation eg. the dancing by the fire, the ghost of xmas future that was a cross between Skeletor and Darth Maul, and some enoch root surealness eg. the falling scene which resembled something out of an early Doctor Who episode, and once again you have created a lasting impression. Slick job.2011-11-02 08:11:00

The Christmas special complete with flying turkey and angry bald lady was jsut the vibe i was going for. Because the level varied in sections from slapstick comedy through to pathos it gave plenty of practice in learning the art of sackbot acting, especially by the time I started working on the third part.

Cheers Mic! I'm glad it left an impression after playing, always a sign that something has gone right. If I'm quick I should be able to get my easter level out by December!

Watched all three. Basically, these movies are impeccable. Sets, costumes, and sack acting are top notch. Your script is accurate and funny (evicted from your pod, lol). Tiny "slightly dim" Tim is hilarious. The ghost of christmas yet to come is really, really creepy. Well done.
I really don't have any artistic criticism, just a couple of small technical points. There are a few places in part 1 where the black letterbox goes away and we can see bright white stickerpanel (?), not really a big deal, but looks unintentional. Also, at the scoreboards we can't see what prizes are being given.
Love the ending! The whole story is cheeky, a bit dark, and superbly executed.
Thanks for your feedback on my level as well.

This level was a good claassic remake of the real thing with a few twist. I really liked it. You have some awesome camera work and your sackbot acting was nearly unflawed. Scene changed with awesome. Few thing i laughed at was tiny dim Tim love that guy, his facial expressions are priceless, and the devil that jumped in the fire. Overall this is a very great level with a few laughs in it.2011-11-05 18:23:00

I really liked this and that's saying a bit, because I usually don't like "film" levels. The sets are crafted really well and the special effects were cool. There's plenty of humor to go around in this great retelling of a classic tale. I'm still chuckling about Tiny "dim" ,Great level man.2011-11-06 13:43:00

I found all three to be very well done. Attention to detail was wonderful. Your humorous dialogue and twists added another dimension to the story.
To bad, after smacking him with the skillet, Mrs. didn't snatch somebody's hair for herself.
Congrats on some very entertaining levels.

Spectacular movie series, it almost feels like it could be broadcast on the BBC and it no one would know it's from a video game. Great sets, great acting, and very good use of decorations and special effects. The story flows well, and is a good mixture of humour and sentiment. My next favorite version now next to A Muppets Christmas Carol which also tells the story in this way. I hope you link them all, and re-release them closer to Christmas so that they can be enjoyed by many in the right season mood.2011-11-06 14:10:00

Thanks for the great feedback pookachoo...impeccable!..wow made me feel special like Tiny but somewhat dim Tim! Glad you picked up on the juxtaposition of the dark creepy and humourous elements. Thanks for playing through to the end too, should be more slightly dark yet funny levels like your disney entry and this movie.

me too ! can't stand those LBP movies! rather rub vinegar on my eyes while watching Glee re-runs! But seriously, after the intial rush of blah! meh! and rubbish LBP movies some creators are putting out good stuff like Kaijus soul searching poetic movies, Dracs Batman trailer and follow up....hopefully the standard will raise gradually.

Thanks m'lady! I tried to saturate some decorative detail on these levels to add a rich visual interface. Good idea on the Hair snatch, I may use that some time in future.
Happy you were entertained.

Just watched this trilogy and it's really awesome! It's a shame I didn't get to see it at real Christmas time!
Loved all of it, as already said kudos for the perfect acting and great scenes! Part 3 was by far my favorite, just loved how it's all dark and moody at the start and then it all turns out the way it does!
Tiny Dim Tim deserves his own spin-off!
Congrats on the great work!!

I like part three the best as the dark and sombre start does make an interesting contrast to the lunacy at the end.
