Transfering DLC

Archive: 14 posts

Yesterday I got a PS3 for my room in addition to the one we own in the living room, I backed up my profile and copied it over to the new PlayStation, however some of the dlc did not come. The problem is that once my little sister brought over her game of the year lbp1 (witch I don't have) and we downloaded all the dlc (monsters, metal gear and history pack) to the downstairs PlayStation. Because we did this on her account it does not show up under my downloads. I'm stuck without some of the dlc and cannot continue my level because I used some of the dlc I don't have on that level. She does not live with me. Do you know of anyway to get the dlc from the downstairs PlayStation onto the upstairs one?2011-10-23 01:33:00

Oh, forgot to mention some stuff that makes this a lot harder. she got her email hacked so she started a new account, it doesn't have it on that we already tried. long story short, it basically has to be directly transferring somehow, not re-downloading...

and no response to the Hebrew thing...Thats just the font pack I used...lol

You can only re-downlad stuff on other PS3s if you can log in to the account to bought them, and only up to 3 PS3s unless you deactivate the account on another first.

So if you cannot access the account, you cannot access the DLC on a different console.

She got her mail hacked ? And can't she still connect to the PS3, then go in account management and change the email of the account ?2011-10-23 21:33:00

If your email or password has been compromised, you can contact SONY (http://us.playstation.com/corporate/contactus/) and have them change it for you. The only way that they would be mad is if you gave away your information. (That happened to me... )

Also, the things you get from LBP1 GOTY is on the disk. To get those things back, you just have to put the disk in and install the game data.

A full system transfer ought to work, but that means losing everything you've done so far on the new PS3.

Doesn't that also delete everything you've done on the old one?

If you make a transfer from 1 to 2:
- it will make a copy of everything you have in 1 into 2 (it does not delete anything)
- the things you have downloaded does not get copy into 2. you need to download them again

If her email got hacked, she should go into the account manager and change the email to the new one (she does not loose the psn account)

If she got her psn account hacked, then she should contact sony to see how she can get back everything she has bought

I'm pretty sure this is how it works. If I'm mistaken on anything I said someone please let us know

If I recall correctly, you don't have to re-download stuff, just to re-activate them.

Not everything... Just some game saves. Mostly Capcom stuff. If you look through your data list you will see stuff that says 'protected' so it can only exist on one play station at a time. I cloned my PS3 recently and it copied my LBP stuff and pretty much everything else. But it MOVED Resident Evil and Street Fighter, I think also Assasians Creed.

If you do the migrate thing it does take you through the steps in a pretty friendly way. Although I think you do need to re-enter passwords.
