I played the beta a few weeks back. It was quite fun playing it online. Playing with AI Clank was kinda boring though.
Never really been a huge R&C fan and this game won't change that.

I'm quite a big R&C fan (played the games, drawn pics, made a LBP level), but I'm not sure I'm gonna get this one.
Didn't get to play the beta due to YLOD.
I was a little disappointed in Resistance 3's campaign story wise (it is more like spin off story more than an ending to the franchise), and that shook my confidence in Insomniac.
(Usually I buy their games asap)

I doubt All 4 One explores much about the lombaxes/main story from the past games.
I'm been reading a bunch of reviews (like OP said, fairly mixed), the game has unskippable cutscenes (to hide loading), and the drop in/out gameplay isn't as fluid as I expected.
(for example players have to reload last checkpoint each time a player joins (and re watch the cutscene))
And the biggest disappointment is that the game doesn't save local 2/3/4 player stats unless they are signed into their own PSN account. Which for a casual drop in/out co-op focused game is a poor design choice. (this was also the case on Resistance 3)

All reviews have the standard fixed camera complaint, but I'm not sure how big a deal this really is, as LBP's cameras are fine imo.
They range from 40%-85% and on average is a good/great score, but I have grown weary of new games which get the fundamentals wrong.

Personally I don't have a mic, does it support the keyboard while playing online?

So.. I'll probably get it eventually? :/

Hmm. You raise some good points. I'll probably wait until a price drop (or pre-owned).
Shame there's those problems, Insomniac are usually good at this.

Go for price drop it'll have the online pass.

I think this was developed by Insomniacs new studio and not the usual team.

Anyone actually got it yet? My friends are al spending their money on uncharted 3 so I'd have to play it alone if I did get it. How long is it?2011-10-21 08:05:00

Got the game for half price (got the Ratchet CE plushie with it too ).
Played a few levels (half weapons unlocked according to my trophy dings), so maybe half way through?
I know it's meant to be a multiplayer game, but I couldn't help playing through solo first.

Pros:
+ Great environments. With the fixed camera and linear paths you get more of a sense of the scope/scale of the land/planets/etc. Very beautiful.
+ Nice character designs. I like the designs of the main guys, some cool creatures too (also some poor designs imo, but the good far outweigh the bad).

Cons:
- Weapons don't upgrade buy use, you just purchase them in the vendor (+damage, + clip size, + upgrade).
- Enough "double bolting" for me to notice. Term comes from those lego games where you get hit, loose studs, and get pushed into something else where you lose studs again.
- Cutscenes are few and far between. Not enough interaction for my liking.
- Repetitive voice overs in game. ("Ready Ratchet?" Yes I am. Shut up, I have been waiting for you.)

From reading the patch notes, the other issues I raised in my earlier post have been fixed .

Anyone else have the game now and want to share their thoughts?
