Behavior

If you have not read the rules for whatever reason, please do so now. (http://www.lbpcentral.com/forums/showpost.php?p=82931&postcount=2)

We've noticed a lot of erratic and rule-defying behavior lately, and I need to address it. Not everyone is responsible, but many of you have been ignoring the rules and acting belligerent toward site staff. Starting today and continuing until this behavior dies down, anyone who breaks a rule will be hit with a week long ban. No warnings, no special treatment. This is a temporary crackdown until this stubborn ignorance of the rules quits.

Note: Breaking the "double posting" rule will not result in a ban, but repeated offenses may.

It's all the excitement over Christmas! :hero:

...Seriously though stop breaking the rules or I'll steal your presents.

...And kill Santa.

I think somewhere you said to respect staff or something like that. I remember a time when respect was earned, where respect was given to people who put their lives on the line for someone else's rights. Not for creating and running a fan forum for a game. However, respect for the community as a whole as in "I will follow the rules" is something I can agree upon.

Just saying.

You don't automatically get respect. You earn it.
Now I've had but one infraction, so I imagine I'm on this list. I'm behaving regardless, being a fairly good member (not so much tolerating the junior high maturity of some people here), and doing my piece of making people feel welcome.

My two cents/euros/drachma/whatever currency you'd like as we're a very diverse, worldly group.

If you find yourself in trouble for breaking the rules, please take a step back and figure out what you did wrong before you decide to argue.
It's a different rule, but in almost every instance we've had, the user in question had argued against the decision without really deciding if they had broken the rules or not.

Yeah. It's much more friendlier, and it fits the community better-- at least that's what I think. 2008-12-24 20:44:00

Glad to see it's a more comfortable change. Also, the "Arguing with Staff" infraction has been changed to "Arguing with Staff over a disciplinary decision". The "Disrespect" infraction has been removed.

Nope. If this was an isolated incident, we wouldn't force the whole forum to read it.

Are you sucking up to make me look bad?

I'm kidding.

But yeah, despite some things, the staff is doing a fantastic job.

A community forum for a game like LBP is bound to have plenty of kids who can occasionally flip and do something idiotic. Reprimanding them is the only way to keep things civil and avoid the forum from degenerating into the usual non-moderated steaming pile of rubbish that so many general video game fan forums tend to degenerate to.

I'm a big fan of keeping things civil, and LBPC is a much better forum than I expected the LBP community to have. Keep up the good work, guys.

I'm not sucking up it's just people obviously don't think of the things people have to do to make this forum the way it is. (you're right i do sound like i'm sucking up )

Force read!
How I missed you... ;__;

On the matter of respecting staff... the admins do deserve the respect for doing everything they've done. Just making this place what it is today is deserving of respect.
The mods should also deserve the respect because they were singled out by the staff members for being exceptional members, and if such an honor is not worthy of respect, I question what is...

Ah, well... enjoyed the force read. ^^

On the other hand with the time and effort they put into making and maintaining this whole thing I would say they deserve some respect! and about the people who put their life on the line i agree to that, if i see a soilder in uniform most the time i thank them and shake their hand. now if they go crazy w/ it and get a super placated ego or are arrogant and or condesending thats a problem! but i agree, just wanted to say i think the creators and that have earned some respect just by their hard work doing this!
