Sticker Panel Layering
Archive: 10 posts
Has anybody worked out what determines the order in which overlapping stickers placed on separate bits of sticker panel are displayed when sharing the same layer? I'm trying to add a pair of moving legs to a figure I've made, but no matter what I do they always end up in front of the skirt despite them sharing the same layer. EDIT: Bah. Just worked it out. It's the order in which they're loaded into the level, rather than placed on the SP. Unfortunately for me, I'm unable to reload them due to the Paint/Corruption bug. Nice. ![]() I'm sure MM are creating these bugs just for me lol. | 2011-10-10 11:28:00 Author: Kiminski ![]() Posts: 545 |
From what I can tell, it depends on when the Sticker Panel was created. A newer pieces of Sticker Panel will overlap an older piece. So far I haven't found any other way to change the overlapping hierarchy, than deleting and copying the various pieces until I have achieved the right order... | 2011-10-10 12:02:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob ![]() Posts: 605 |
Doh, I'm an idiot and you've saved the day! Thank you! | 2011-10-10 12:14:00 Author: Kiminski ![]() Posts: 545 |
Unrelated, but since they are actually layered on top of each you can use them in combination with emitters for some interesting effects. ![]() | 2011-10-10 12:57:00 Author: Syroc ![]() Posts: 3193 |
You can also get them in the exact same "layer" by selecting both the sticker panels and copy paste it around for a while. for some reason it doesn't always work. | 2011-10-10 13:04:00 Author: >er. ![]() Posts: 785 |

where do we get the Sticker panel material ? You get it from the Move Pack Tutorials. | 2011-10-11 04:39:00 Author: Speedynutty68 ![]() Posts: 1614 |
thanks. found it. I didn't realize the Move tutorials were simply added to the pre-existing tutorial list. the Move pack gave no prompts, that I saw. | 2011-10-11 05:07:00 Author: sellfcon ![]() Posts: 79 |

I did an experiment, and made the numbers from 1 to 0 (through nine of course) on the same layer. The order went like this (from back to front): 0 - 8 - 1 - 7 - 3 - 2 - 6 - 9 - 4 - 5 ------------------------------------------> back Front So that means the first piece I made came as no. three in the line and the last piece (0) came as the furthest back. I honestly think it's just random, which order they come in. Stupid, really. Then I did the same test again, and got a completely different result. ![]() Yep, it's random! | 2011-10-18 14:46:00 Author: The Don ![]() Posts: 50 |
