Capturing different colored gas

Archive: 11 posts

I want to emit a blue gas in my level, but when I capture the blue gas and set it to emit, its always emits the object as green gas instead of blue gas object I captured. Anyone else have this problem?2008-12-24 04:23:00

A exhaust pipe would be an example, for it to keep emitting gas, making it seem like it's puffing.2008-12-24 06:57:00

from what i know, gas is a floating static object, so making it move is nearly impossible (unless you glitch it somehow and the only known way of doing it is gone due to the new patch) but if you want to emit in a single spot right next to the exhaust pipe?, well then i could not give you an answer, but try molding your gas to the shape and size that you want and use the "capture object tool", now just place an emitter, tweak, select that object, and hopefully it will turn out as the right color. at least i hope (i have not tried this myself)

Cheers!

if you attach a piston to the gas you can make it move that's how i make one of my rooms in one of my levels look like its filling up with water, its cool because it goes through solid objects. I don't think this was a glitch but maybe, haven't tried it since the patch.2008-12-24 07:22:00

Hmm, you can add a thin layer of dissolve material behind the gas, and have it so everytime the gas emits, the dissolve material dissolves, giving the visual effect of it moving? I don't know 2008-12-24 08:24:00

Guys, that's not a disinteresting discussion you're having about moving gas, but the poor chap wanted to know why his gas wasn't staying the same colour! Answer, must be a new glitch. I haven't tried it since the last patch, but if you capture some gaz in say the blue colour, then emit that captured object, it is supposed to emit the right clour. I used this in HAWK Lair, worked fine. So to answer your question, no I'm not having this problem, and it isn't normal for it to be doing that.

Captured gas objects emit as green for me, this is only post 1.07 (I didn't try before).

Hmm.... I'm going to have to try this out.
Did you try emiting it with a little bit of Peach Floaty? That Might Help.

Yeah, I can confirm that this is a new glitch. This is actually how that one guy created the level "Anti-Color."2009-01-01 20:29:00
