I found this out just today, it's quite a cool little feature. Basically, you can put stickers and decorations on Brain Crane powerups and they'll show up on your Sackperson when you equip them, just like with Creatinators! This also means that the Brain Crane powerup contains a Brain Crane decal that you can extract, again just like the Creatinator! Has anyone else found out about this?

first time i heard brain crane i thought of an escape pod that sackboy gets in to lift things within it's range. pretty much a controllinator + tadpole cursor thingy

It makes sense that you'd be able to customise them as they're virtually the same as the creatinator. Can't say I've tried it though. I'd wager that Mm didn't use it because you can't alter the job of what the brain crane does - it picks stuff up - you can fully customise what it can pick up but it's still doing the same action. The creatinator differs in that it's function is almost limitless as to what it can shoot out. In the story mode Mm's creatinators had varied uses and their designs reflected that. Regarding the brain crane it's simply going to be an aesthetic purpose rather than a gameplay related one where as different creatinator decorations allow the player to distinguish which one's which.
