Too Dark?

Archive: 9 posts

I, Loafsy, am participating in the LBPC5 "Dark Side of Disney" Contest. I have decided to do "Beauty and the Beast". Now, after a few hours of brainstorming, I have decided on a plot for the story. Without revaling too much, I was wondering if this is too dark:

In the story Belle has an insane father who escaped from an asylum. He is a grave robber and uses people's bones on his various experiments. Unfortunately, he runs out of eyes. So he goes after Belle for her eyes. She runs away to the Beast's castle.

At the Beast's castle she is instantly locked away in a room in a tower. Eventually, she escapes. She wanders around the castle and eventually comes across the rose. The Beast finds her there and.... eats her.

THE END.

Please give suggestions for changes if you think this is too dark.

Thanks - Loafsy

I too am entering the contest with a very dark level, but I don't think yours is too dark. Just go with what you think is good.

Here is my entry btw. Judge the level of darkness for yourself

It is not out yet, but it is based on Peter Pan. I just linked you to the development blog. I am trying to push the limits as far as they will go. Don't do anything more graphic or dark than what you see in my blog in the next few days, and you will be fine.2011-10-08 03:02:00

Its no darker then my Pinocchio trying to become a real boy and needing the right materials to do so such as the ability to lie like all little boys do and then say a heart cause all boys have one and other things.

What i will be doing is adding a horror and blood warning and rating the level T for teen so that anyone playing will know what to expect. There are so many zombie levels with gore out there that i think it will be fine though.

Just an idea instead of the beast eating Belle what about her killing the beast and giving its eyes to the insane father so that he stops hunting her. Just an idea though and might add more of a twist to the story.

Or rather than a price turned beast, he is a beast turned prince luring belle into his castle with his manly good looks?2011-10-08 06:00:00

@Lordwarblade

Thanks for the idea, I might use it. Of course how will she ever know she's going to come across the Beast? Though she could "make-it-up-as-she-goes" and decide to take the Beasts eyes too.

@poorjack

When you say the Beast and his manly good looks do you mean when he was actually man and not a Beast? Or is the Beast just that attractive? lol

I think what poorjack means is
She is running from her father when she sees a prince (its the beast in disguise (his real form is the beast, NOT the prince, rather in the movie his real form being the prince)
SO using his manly princish looks, he lures her inside, once she falls asleep she wakes up in a locked room, escapes, find the prince pulling the petals OFF the rose, then the last one drops and he turns into the beast and then, well your the creator you figure it out
Hope i helped!!!
