Moving background...How?

Archive: 7 posts

Yes, I want to make a moving background...to explain it in detail I'll tell you in what context I want a moving background...

So you have a car or anyother vehicle...the wheels are turning but it's floating in the air...
And so I want a moving background to make it look like the vehicle is actually moving. Like in the level "Runaway train", where you're on that train, which isn't actually moving but only the stuff in the background, you see?

And now I want to know how.

Oh, and I even want to have it a little bit more complicated...
After some time I want that the background changes...for example you're at first in a jungle and then on a desert road or something like that...

I hope you can help me and that I described my problem accurate enough!

Wouldn't an emitter do the trick? Where the emitter pops out clouds, trees, or whatever. And, they could have a mover attached to them so it passes by the cars.2011-10-07 19:46:00

You may also want to try lowering the gravity a slight bit to make the player feel like they're on something moving, too, because I completely forgot of this trick when playing Runaway Train, and actually tried to time my jumps. Again, with the background there are also those shiny red things that hit you backwards when bounding on top of the train.2011-10-08 01:47:00
