The Weary Warehouse (LBPC4)

Archive: 10 posts

Hello all! I just published my contest entry for lbpc4 competition called The Weary Warehouse. Most of the gameplay is platforming and is focused on gravity as well. A unique creatinator is provided called the Gravinator which will allow for zero gravity for 2 seconds. Honestly it is not finished but due to time constraints I had to put an end to it before I had built everything I had planned. I hope you enjoy it! Any feedback would be great and much appreciated!

I've recorded a playthrough of the level by request and wanted to post it here for others to see. Enjoy.

I just played this the other night and have to say, you never dissappoint Shook. Even not having to showcase the finished product, everything about this level looked complete to me. I really liked the challenges with the gravinator. It made the gameplay that much more rewarding to finish using a little strategy. Well done there. It's definitely in the running in my opinion. Great job and good luck there2011-10-01 19:29:00

You've proved that playing with gravity can be quite a treat shookie. The start of the level was nice, with fast-action pipes leading you around the place. The little uopward gravitational conveyor belt kind of devices are a neat little addition, but the Gravinator is what really makes the level shine. You've brought us some neat concepts to take in, including the Honey Hive Fiasco Honeycomb Creatinator to shoot then grab, and this too, is a likable powerup. bringing you upward when jumping through or above it. It maybe could've been used in a bit more different situations, but I was still pretty satisfied with the ways it was used, especially with that near-end challege, trying to slow down the speed with it and the bounce pad, as you've tried using it to go up higher, but in that case, the very opposite.

I also see that upside-down angles aren't leaving just yet, and the tiny connections between your levels make it all a little bit more intruiging, the connection here being with Fusion Corp. Lastly, the design here is some fun stuff, coded with that yellow and black hazard tape and a good use of the Metal Gear solid Level Kit. Each area seems to have a good amount of detail, no parts are too blank, maybe the side area with point right before the scoreboard could have something added on wall or whatever.

Overall, this gets a :star::star::star::star:, a <3 and a . A good level, worth playing. Nice job.

Great level dude. The gravity thing was really creative and fun to use. A very original level. I know your work well and can tell that you did indeed run out of time, but I doubt most folks would even notice. It's still a fantastic level that plays and looks awesome. Well done.2011-10-02 01:37:00

Hey thanks to all for the great feedback. Too bad I had to publish it unfinished. I was literally making changes and republishing it right up to the midnight deadline. Ended it with only 60% thermo full and if y'all know me well enough I always max the thermo lol. Can easily forsee a sequel in the near future so I can make all of what I had planned for this one but ran out of time.

One review stated I didn't make the gravinator lol, not sure what that's about, maybe they thought when I said the gravinator was courtesy of fusion corp I was referring to someone else, but fusion corp is one of my levels, lol.

Thanks again everyone!

Very good level. This level has some unique gravity-changing obstacles.

VISUALS:
The level has good layering visuals with neat material and object choices and some interesting arrow movements.

SOUND:
Epic musics from Marvel Level kit made this level sounded more exciting.

GAMEPLAY:
The usage of the gravinator is brilliant and inventive. This level even has great use of bounce pads, grappling hook, grabinator, and some other gravity obstacles.

OVERALL:
This gravity-based level is pure genius. You even made my gravity-based level, Cybernetic Adventures Epsilon, jealous. A yay, heart, and positive review.

Thanks Justin! I sure would have liked to have time to include all the other stuff that didn't meet the deadline in time. Maybe a sequel in the near future. Thanks again dude! Also I would like to say good luck to all the other entries!2011-10-08 02:28:00
