Original Post:

Was planning on keeping this secret for just a little bit longer...

But thanks to some overzealous Molecules at the Eurogamer Expo with a Popit full of new goodies and some inquisitve minds sending me messages asking for some confirmation of the news, I suppose now is as good a time as any to reveal some upcoming DLC...

Or perhaps it's about time that I revealed some DLC news to you for a change, before the folks at LBP2Blog get the chance to pull a new patch to pieces.

Anyway without going into too many details, the upcoming DLC revealed at the Eurogamer Expo was an Invizimals Costume Pack and a Weekend Pursuits Costume Pack.

Can't really tell you much about the Invizimals Pack since I don't know the game at all but suffice to say there's a collection of different Invizimal species costumes in the upcoming pack.

As for the Weekend Pursuits pack, it will definitely appeal to fans of generic Sackboy costumes since it contains the following costumes...

Angler (Fisherman)
Caver (Miner/Spelunker)
Golfer
Skier

Anyway that's the full scoop on the DLC revealed at the Eurogamer Expo.

Update

Here's the images for the upcoming Weekend Pursits DLC, coming October 11th!

Doesn't sound that much of an exciting pack, but a DLC Pack none the less. Thanks for finding this steven!

Nice leaks Steve. I've played a bit of Invizimals before, so I have an idea of what's going to be in that pack. Wish I could have gone to that Expo. Hope you had your fun. Now like the excitement (and possibly complaints) over the new DLC begin. 2011-09-27 14:36:00

Great! Love the normal, generic costumes - Usually some costumes can only be used in some certain themes of levels, but generic ones can be in any! Can't wait to see what they're like!

Maybe it's just me, but I'd personally love to see some Emergency Services costume DLC - Stuff like costumes of Police Officers, Fire Fighters and Paramedics. So many people make levels that are set in the present day, and these are costumes which I reckon everyone could use in one level or another - especially the Police Officers one, as I've lost count of the number of robbery/crime levels out there. Sometimes in a great level, a tacky costume can almost ruin it, and take you out of the trance of a great level so you can stop and say: "Hmm... I wonder what he's supposed to be?"

What is an Invizimal?

A: Small animals that can't be seen with the human eye.

B: A plushie animal toy.

:hero:

Because really I have no clue...

Oh, I missed the info that it was a game... (http://psp.ign.com/objects/143/14354894.html)

Ratchet and/or Clank additional DLC, plocks. :B

You added on to the Toy Story DLC (aliens) with a whole new slew of stuff. It's wholly plausible that more's coming in a similar fashion!

So does skier... Although the ski motion may be questionable. I really am hoping for a generic style fedora hat, but think that generic day to day theme packs like this are great! I hope that the concept is expanded on. An emergency pack would be great as would a 'hats' pack

I really hope the miner has a mining pick!
The Stinky Pete costume has a pick, I hope that there is a helmet with a light... A tweakable light. (I can dream).

I dunno. There's already a nurse costume. You can make a decent fire fighter with the hard hat, PVC suit and some stickering. And with the badge decoration, some stickers and the ever-present moustache you get a recognisable police officer. Add tacky sun glasses and white-stickered bike helmet to taste. A police cap would be nice though.

Details http://blog.lbp2blog.com/full-details-on-upcoming-dlc-invizimals-pursuits/

We will apparently get 4 new Invizimals costumes:
- Tiger Shark
- Metal Mutt
- Ice Lion
- Flame Cow (Edit: It seems it should have been Flameclaw)

A quick google search gave some pictures of what the original Invizimals look like - I'm actually pretty exited to see the LBP versions of these outfits!

Tiger Shark:
http://images.wikia.com/invizimalsthegame/images/0/0b/Tigershark.jpg

Metal Mutt:
http://images.wikia.com/invizimpedia/images/2/21/MetalMutt_Pup.jpg

Ice Lion:
http://images.wikia.com/invizimpedia/images/4/46/Icelion_Pup.jpg

The Flame Cow sadly didn't give any meaningful results, but the going by the name, it's bound to be a spectacle
(Edit: This is likely due to Flameclaw being the real name of the creature ^^)

The perfect animal pack

Burning Cow
Kitty Got Wet (Censor forced me to say kitty)
Drunk Llama
Constipated Donkey

For a pack like this I would hack PSN store causing another month outage.

Is it so hard to have a cool electric guitar as a sackboy piece?

A music costume kit would be pretty boss.

A guitar, a drum kit suit, some torn jeans and a plaid shirt, and other such music paraphernalia like a smashed TV set, headless bat or even a small bit of mirror to carry.

If the costumes actually looked like the invizimals it would be pretty slick, but if they pull some crap like they did with that last toy story pack, then I'll just keep my 2.99 thank you. Lotso bear indeed.

that could be cool, you could even have several different packs with the different eras.
the 60's set -- flower power, Beatles, Black Sabbath
the 70's set -- disco, although we do have some disco stuff
the 80's set -- punk rock, glam rock
the 90's set -- grunge is in, no more bathed sackboys, greasy hair etc,

Yeah, but the pick is the only good part of that costume, and it's not worth the money for just the pick to me. If nothing else, the light in the helmet would be player colour.

Yep, the miner has a helmet with a light. Not sure if it actually lights stuff up (more likely glow in the dark) and it won't be tweakable but may change to player colour?

As great of DLC MM can provide, there seems to be more lack then there is luster for animal cosutmes, at least recently. Sure, the original animal packs weren't the best but some actually might've been useful. Not everyone makes bot as animals, they'll usually just rely on making it as an object but still, some of themes can be fun but I've found recent ones weighing the DLC down some. The cat and dog kits were alright, the eyes seemed pretty good and noses might've been helpful but not the best. I haven't purchased either so I don't wanna be a jerk with my criticisms but I can't imagine ever wanting to use a St. Bernard mask, at all. And the different creatures like Rex, Lotso, that Blue Triceratops, it's mostly just fluffy ears and useless noses, yes, a couple of the noses are a bit different and possibly useful, but they've done enough of them and it seems like there's barely anything to get with some of the animal ones. I think it would've been a much smarter approach if there is just one costume kit, with Woody, Jessie, Zurg, Buzz and possibly Stinky Pete, haven't taken a good look at his outfit yet though, but if MM wants to do minor costumes like that, they should be 3 dollars, even if it is for Pixar. (I mean this because usual costume kits with 4 costumes (or 3 and a big green ghost helmet thing) can end up being 6 bucks while a non-copyright related costume kit with what could be 4 useful costumes could end up charging you 3 dollars isntead)

Anyway though, I don't like ranting on and on but I do hope this is a good kit, but then again I hope all kits are good kits. I just hope this isn't just a set with bad horns matched with even more fluffy ears and more noses. Go for the tendirls, the wings, some great, visible tails. We've gotten enough cute and fluffy creatures, whether people have liked them or not, no offence. Even with serious creature costumes, I'm sure people can make a nice mix. Flameclaw seems to have some great wings, I'd love flying around with those attatched and Ice Lion has some nice teeth, oh and Tiger Shark has one badass tail. I might not be an expert at these things, but all I'm saying is I'd like if they focus on cool details like that, not get caught up with just a few things we've gotten in the past.

As for the job outfits, they sound quite nice, generic costumes are great, and like Rogar said, we have the ability to make some normal costumes, but we also have quite a number of silly pieces, so balancing it out is always good, and if I had to pick a few pieces myself for them to add, I guess having a straight jacket or a furcoat wouldn't be the end of the world

I'm just glad they gave us a brilliant looking male suit to wear, that came with the move pack. Now I don't have to wear a woman detective suit when I try make a decent outfit of Tesla

with Woody, Jessie, Zurg, Buzz and possibly Stinky Pete,
How could you forget Slinky Dog? that was one of the most nice looking and useful costumes of them IMO. *mew

The cat and dog ktis just didn't seem good.

What chu talking about? The Cats and dogs pack was very good.
about half of the 2 packs was anyways. like always it depends on what kind of costume creator you are far as usefulness goes.

I just hope this isn't just a set with bad horns matched with fluffy ears and more noses.

While you are bringing up some good points. But when your mainly
a anthropomorphic/Furry Artist and costume creator like me.
them so called fluffy ears & noses are very useful to be honest.

But I think you fail to talk about the real problem with
a lot of animal costumes... Namely The whole almost useless
a lot of the time. open mouth face helmet costumes,
like Rex & the Pig from toy story. A lot of us costume creators
just don't plain have many real uses for them kinds o hats.
their ugly and have very limiting use. and for some reason
the DLC makers like to make them to much. *mew

Well, it shouldn't be too hard given that there was one made exclusively for that N-Dubz video (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en/news/article/n-dubz_-_took_it_all_away_-_play_create_share_mix/)

Unfortunately, Mm has announced on their Get Satisfaction page that the guitar costume piece was developed exclusively for the N-Dubz video, and they have no plans to release this costume piece to the public. Maybe if we complain enough we'll get what we want.

Technically that was confirmed long ago when the Gonzo Costume was first announced for the Collector's Edition of LittleBigPlanet 2.
Although it's fair to say that the full Muppets DLC is definitely on its way to LittleBigPlanet 2...

The Verabee Original Sticker Kit has always seemed to be particularly popular:
http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en/game_guide/ps3/downloadable_content/verabee_original_sticker_kit/

Although ultimately I suppose the answer depends primarily on what purpose you require any DLC stickers for and if they'll fit into the overall theme of any levels that you create.

I had my doubts, but I can now honestly say, those costumes are awesome! I can really see those costumes coming in handy - especially the golfing one - mainly due to the turtleneck and awesome trousers. Saying that though, those skiing goggles look awesome, and I'm sure the miner's orange jumpsuit can come in handy for some kind of hero!

Awesome work MM! This is one costume pack I am not going to miss.

>.< But since the theme isn't from any games, movies, etc. Hopefully they will be cheap, like the Dogs/Cats costume pack ^_<"

Just my luck, skiers mask is attached to the hat. Ah well, all I hope for now is if it makes a very lovely sound when you hit someone with that golf club. ^^2011-10-12 02:08:00
