Community Spotlight consideration for works in progress

Archive: 4 posts

I'm curious about how or when levels are played and considered for Community Spotlight status. The level I made has been significantly revamped twice since I started my F4F Level Showcase thread. Now I worry that it was overlooked before I put my best foot forward because it has barely been played since the latest changes.

Are my concerns unfounded? Short of starting a new thread, is there any way to draw attention to an overhauled level?

Thanks!

Well the community post levels everyday, so it will take a while for the Spotlight crew to find yours. So all you can do now is promote your level. Eventually it will be found, but in the mean time, keep on creating amazing levels like the rest of the community do everyday.2011-10-04 21:22:00

I think the best idea is to start a new thread. We have a list of all the levels in the level showcase which updates as they are added. It's chronological too so no matter if you bump a thread, its position won't change on that list. What that means is we will see your WIP in its first stages when you first added it, judge it and then move on to the next levels that appear. I guarantee by the time you're done updating it the level will be buried and we won't find it.

If you publish a new thread we'll see it at the top of the list. Though my advice is to distinguish the two, make sure we can tell it's the final version that's been overhauled via the title. If it has the same name/ everything we will likely view it as a repeat posting. Repeats do happen quite often for various reasons, so distinction is vital. Also if we went back and replayed every level as it got updated we'd probably have a whole lot more work to do so try and have it as polished/ complete as you can from the start for the best chance.

That's a good idea. Imagine an LBPCentral XMB Theme. (Don't know why I posted that here. )2011-10-05 19:29:00
