Well... I could have SWORN there was already a thread, but the search came up blank. Anyways, as we all know already... tons of games are scheduled for release this fall, so many that its gotten the Holiday season as congested as the 2 previous years combined! And, now the dam's have leaked, and the releases are beginning to flow down! In just a few weeks, we will see the release of Arkham City, Tropico 4,Super Mario Land 3D and several other releases, and then Battlefield 3 will round out October with RAGE. November holds Uncharted 3, Skyrim, Sonic Generations, MW3... and Even Skyward Sword! And thats only a few of the titles! There are so many games now, that Publishers are trying to force all sorts of incentives for people to pre-order their games... Today when I went to Pre-order UC3, I noticed a deal for Dark Souls that was insane! Pre-order the regular game, and get: Art-Book Strategy Guide Music CD and more! Thats like getting a Collectors Edition for free! And they are far from the only ones following that logic... AC:Revelations has a similar deal, and Battlefield 3 as well! Even Skyward Sword comes with a CD if you pre-order/buy it on release! Things are heating up, and thankfully... with all these deals, the consumer wins regardless of which game sells more! So, I ask you... what games are YOU getting?

Uncharted 3, Battlefield 3 and Skyrim are definite buys, got pre-orders down for those babies. And I'm keeping an eye out for Batman Arkham City, RAGE and Dark Souls, they all look pretty **** swweet.

I think developers must be total idiots. (or is it the publishers?) Why do they always release their games at the same time? We always hear about "The Summer Drought" in games - periods of time where there is barely ANYTHING released - and gamers sitting with cash in hand, praying for something worthy to spend it on. And then they release their game at the same time as every other game?! I don't get the marketing strategy behind this. Surely releasing your game during the "summer drought" will get it more attention, as there'll be slim pickings for new releases. And then , by the time the "prime gifting period" (what marketing execs call "Christmas") rolls around - it'll be cheaper for people to buy as a gift - getting a 2nd wind in sales. Instead they all seem to release at exactly the same time - competing for exactly the same disposable income, that can only be spent on 1 title - and that 1 title will inevitably be Call of Duty for the majority of unthinking gamers, as they have the best marketing to convince easily persuaded people to buy their annual update. From my own perspective - there are many titles coming out this "prime gifting period" that I'm very interested in - and while I can afford them all - it's my time that is limited - I cannot afford the time to play all of these titles, most of the ones I'm interested in are massive time-sponges... meaning most of these titles will only be bought much later, at a bargain price. They should have released them earlier - perhaps during the summer drought, when there was more free time to play them

It's worked well, and I plan on asking for Generations from my parents. Its only $50, so they don't have to spend much... and I get the games I pre-ordered still. While my grandma is usually one big 'ol piggy bank for the holidays, I strictly asked her to get me a Vita pre-order for the holidays... I might get a lot of money for my Birthday, but all of that is going towards Vita accessories and games!

Lets see... I have no Wii. pretty much gave away my 360 to family. don't care about getting 3DS. so that helps limit what I have to pick from I'll need to get. Sonic generations, Dark souls. Uncharted 3 is the only day one purchase for me God of war collection vol 2, Resistance 3, Deus Ex HR, Sonic Generations, Rayman Origins and anything I may have forgotten will be bought once the price reaches a more reasonable point of around ?20 which shouldn't take too long because games depreciate quicker during the flood.

I'm only genuinely interested in Dark Souls and Disgaea 4. Kinda sceptical of Skyrim but may pick it up once it goes down in price. Battlefield 3 by itself looks good, but I was turned off by the retarded implementation of Origin, Battlelog and on-release DLC.

None! I'm weird with games and hardly ever buy them, and then only buy stuff I really want. The most recent game I've recieved was Okamiden about 3 months ago, and the only game I want right now is LBP Vita.

Wow lots of games. I'm getting Batman, Dark Souls and Skyrim. But hoping to get Uncharted, Assassin's Creed and RAGE at some stage too. Oh and Deus Ex too... and the MGS and ICO collections... sigh...

Just Uncharted 3 and Batman: Arkham City for me. The last game I bought was LittleBigPlanet 2 back in January so I'm definitely itching to play something new. Also interested in the new Ratchet and Clank game but that'll probably wait until Christmas.

Put MW3 in the list but not Forza 4... >_____> If I want to play MW3, I'll just put CoD4 in. It's a better game anyway. I'll be getting RAGE, Skyrim, BF3 (probably on 360 & PC) and Forza 4.
