Random Emitters

Archive: 9 posts

Whats the best way to go about doing this? i want a set of 4 or 5 emitters to trigger randomly every...5 seconds and indefinitely.

I'm experienced with creating stuff on LBP, but it's been a while since i messed around creating stuff, so bear that in mind with any explenations

Errr... a simple self resetting timer (set to 5 secs) connected to a randomizer (set pattern override) connected to all 4 or 5 emmitters?
This should apply only if you want 1 of the 4 or 5 emmitters trigger each time. Having a random amount of those 4 or 5 emmitters to activate might need another timer and randomizers pattern probably enabled but i am not that experienced though to tell the said connectivity right now. lol

If you want only one of the four or five emitters to be on at any one time, you need a timer set to 5.0 connected to a randomizer and it's own reset port. The randomizer then goes into a four or five input selector, depending on the amount of emitters, but not the cycle option. Each of the outputs from the selector go into a counter, one counter per output, and is set to 1. The counters then go to the emitters. You then have 4 OR gates for four emitters, or five for five emitters. For each of those OR gates, you would connect the output to reset a counter, each OR gate resets a counter. The inputs for the OR gates should be the same amount as the amount of counters, and each counter should be placed in every OR gate besides the one that resets it.

If this confuses you, invite me, send me a message saying your from LBPcentral about the emitters or any other logic, and i'd gladly help. It's really alot simplier than you think.

Hope this helps. L.S

Ok, *ahem* I have a timer with the output hooked up to the reset and another to the randomizer. The randomizer i have hooked up outputs to the emitters.

The emitters emit randomly, but they seem to be ignoring the timer alltogether...any ideas?

You dont need a timer: just tweak the randomizer to off time: 5s and on time to 0.1! dont forget to configurate the pattern 2011-09-25 02:11:00
