im using my PS3, but my laptop not working it just keeps staying on the "starting windows" screen.

I've noticed sometimes this kinda thing happens on my laptop too - but it's usually because I have a USB (Flash Drive for you US) plugged in that I forgot to take out. Have you checked that?

Do you have a bunch of startup programs which causes the computer to really take a long time to boot up and shut down? If so then go to start, type in msconfig > click startup and remove anything that you deem necessary that should not boot up when windows starts, (Usually things you want to disable are programs that you can run by clicking when you need them, keep things like firewalls/antivirus programs run)

i might also add to press one of the f buttons, i forget which, that allows you to choose how you want to start up, and click go into safe mode with networking and chech for viruses and then self repairs.
