I saw those too - and they are pretty impressive! Would love to see some community made ones too - so those of you with the move paint pack out there - get painting!

Actually, maybe that's a good idea for a competition....?

As far as I know there is a competition running with just that subject. Move Masterpiece (http://forums.littlebigplanet.com/t5/General-Discussion/Community-Curator-s-Challenge-Move-Madness-lt-Prize-Crown-amp/td-p/386428)

Making art is great, and these are amazing!! But I'm more interested in the practical uses for level building, and effects. I think paint has great potential to be a game changing tool. Cant wait to see what people do with it.2011-09-20 18:35:00

of all the new move levels on the "cool pages", almost none of them are about the paint tool.

most of them are still OMGWTFBBQBRAINCRANE

I agree. The move remote is far too finicky to keep a steady hand. This tool desperately needs a 'slow-mo' option or layers.

How did they even do it? Painting with really low opacity? Just slapping colors on?

You are so very right... And one of the reasons for it is that MM doesn't allow the use of self made objects in paint, which leaves us with only a move and an awkward paint tool.

I think what matters more is that they somehow did it but a great majority of the community will never be able to do so, using the primitive tools offered by Paint...

The artists who drew these pictures may be so talented but those who are not should have been able to transfer their self made objects to and use them as stickers...

I believe you will have to wait so loong because most people can't draw things any better than primary school pictures using the awkward tool called Paint

I'm working on a level right now made up pretty much entirely out of sticker panel material

I found the paint tool very easy to use... ok, yes, I do have a natural artistic ability - but not all paintshop app are as easy to use as LBP Move.

Top tips would be - Start by mixing colours... just as with an artist easle - even though he'll start with a few primary colours, by mixing colours - you can get any colour you want. Pick a base colour - then with the opacity turned right down as far as it can go, use the gradient brush to add white and black (giving lighter and darker shades)... then use the paint picker (triangle button) to select the shade you want.

Then it's a case of slowly building up your picture...the same basic rules for drawing also apply to Move Paint. Start by sketching an outline - fill in a base colour, add light and dark shading - and finally add the fine detail. It really helps when adding the shading to keep the opacity down as far as it can go while still not being completely invisible (left and right on the left analogue).

As for getting good at drawing... practice, practice, practice

Actually, the problem is I'm considerably good at drawing but not so good with coloring the pictures I draw, as well as with using the Move to draw... If, at least, some features like copying a certain part of the picture we draw and pasting it to another side of the canvas and having lines, circles and other geometrical shapes at our disposal to draw shapes with perfect alignment could be added to the Paint Tool, that would help a lot... Drawing a perfect circle is impossible with Move and using stickers for the purpose decreases the quality of the final work... In the meantime, thanks a lot for your valuable tips...2011-10-15 09:33:00
