Creatinator Laser Beams?
Archive: 7 posts
Does anyone know how to make a creatinator that shoots lethal laser beams like the ones in Attack of the Mutant Marshmellows? I'd like to shoot it at some zombies which have a projectile sensor so they can take some hits before they go down. Hope that you guys can help me! Thx | 2011-09-19 18:23:00 Author: Unknown User |
I think you can just use holo with a tag and put tag sensors on your zombies instead of projectile sensors? Have the sensor trigger a counter for as many hits as you want before triggering your destroyer with the effect you want. | 2011-09-19 19:31:00 Author: Death_with_an_H Posts: 72 |
Craft a ray-like piece of hologram material, add some SFX to it, and make the creatinator fire that As for actual damage, I don't think you'll be able to use an impact sensor, though I haven't tried. What will work for sure is tags and tag sensors; Say, Laser Beam has a blue tag, sackbot has a blue tag sensor and it's maximum detection range is set very small. Wire that Blue tag sensor to a Timer set to 1 second and Forwards/Backwards, and the timer wired to a 1 hit counter. The counter is wired to a Destroyer. What this'll do is when the Laser hits the Sackbot, there will be a one second delay in which you can add some extra special effects like dim-set lights and what not, and when the timer is full, it'll feed the counter, which will power up the destroyer. In case the Sackbot goes out of range, or you stop firing at it, the timer will go back down to 0 on it's own, as well as any effects you might have added. The Mutant Marshmallows use this method, or something very similar, as you can tell when you fire at them, they start to get brighter and brighter before the destroying event occurs. You can actually use an Impact Sensor, and this is the most reliable approach as well Set the Impact Sensor to Include Rigid Connections: Yes, Include Touching: Yes and Require Tag: Yes with a colour and label of your choice. Wire this Sensor to a Timer set to On/Off and wire the output of the Timer to a Destroyer. Place copies of this circuit on the objects you wish to destroy. The Timer will now determines how long you have to hit the object with the beam before the object is destroyed. Then you can do as suggested above; Craft a laser beam from Hologram (or Sticker Panel) and place a Tag Key with matching colour and label on the beam object. Finally capture the beam with the Creatinator, and you should be good to go | 2011-09-20 10:21:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
Oh awesome! Wasn't sure if impact sensors would work. Ever since I started working on my robot (around the same time I joined LBP2 really) I lost faith on them D: Thanks from me! | 2011-09-20 10:48:00 Author: MonarioBabii Posts: 128 |
Hehe Yea they can be a bit of a hassle to work with at times, but generally they can do what Projectile Sensors do, plus more ^^ | 2011-09-20 10:51:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
Thx for the replys. Both sensors, impact and tag, worked out pretty good. but i"ll stick to the tag sensor method! Thanks | 2011-09-21 18:14:00 Author: Unknown User |
