Breaking Free

Archive: 10 posts

Hello, I am KaoTheSpaceCow. I am new to this site (so I hope I am making this post correctly) and I am fairly new to making levels as well. Breaking Free is my first real level that I put time into. I am definitely aware of certain things I need to improve on but I am still open to any type of feedback of course. I do plan on fleshing out the story in the second level and improving on how the story gets told. I am still trying to figure out the best way to use most of the tools so hopefully the more I mess around with it I'll get better.

I'll F4F as much as I can.

It's jolly good, especially if it's your first time making a level. Those first jumps are a bit extreme for the average player though.
I just made my first one too, please check it out: https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=63559-The-Abandoned-Mine

I got your level queued. Based on the feedback, it sounds like a real good level. I'll leave feedback asap.

Just finished your level and it is very nice. It's way better than my first level.

What I liked
-The atmosphere, textures, and decorations were spot on.
- The story was great.
- I enjoyed jumping out the window and into the water.
- I liked that there was more light when I broke the window.
- It was a good idea to free the sackbots at the start.

Some problems I found
-At the start, I accidentally jumped into the sackbots jail cell and couldn't get out. When I reset using the pop-it, it brought me back to the title screen.
- Jumping over the bridges was a bit hard. The fire balls were dropping down too fast and I got passed it more by luck than skill.

Those were the two things that jumped out at me that could use some work. Other than that, very good level.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I've made some changes such as the jumps being a bit easier and the falling rocks. Hopefully it should be less frustrating but still a challenge. Also I fixed the problem with jumping into the cells with the other sackbots. It happened when you grabbed onto to them, thus pulling yourself in.

I managed to catch up on everyone's requests as well.

All i can say is: Why isn't this on the cool pages? It's excellent! The amount of detail put into this is ALOT and i mean it! The thermometer must be full to the top?
The level could maybe be improved by maybe shortening the start by a second and when you pull the switch at the cages, there maybe could be a hole in the wall that opens so you can drop down to the floor below?

But other than that, i don't think there is anything other bad about it! Well done and keep publishing! I'd like to see more!
