I am going to let it rest for a week. I vacum the dust out of the vents and I put it in the PS3 box to let it rest for a week. Is that the right thing to do? Is it overheating are getting ready to die? Also I wiped out the HHD so it would be like a new ps3 and I vacum the dust out of the vents and its resting for a week. So I just want to know am I doing the right thing?

If theres no brief glimpse of a yellow light followed by the red light flashing it should be fine, the 3 beeps go with any error on shutdown.

Ok but it also makes 3 beeps when I quit from in game to quit game or go to internet from in game.

Yea that also happens to me. im just nervous because i cant afford a new ps3 at this time.

I usually hear the three beeps when the system crashes (ordinary crashes), when I shut it down while it is reading the HDD (loading a level or saving the game), and everytime I quit LBP2 since 1.06 (which is unusual).

These 3 beep shutdowns always happen after LBP2 1.06 update which makes me fear PS3 crashing down all of sudden..

Is that the right thing to do? If you get three beeps when quitting a game (or shutting down when a game is running) it just means there's a bug in the game preventing it from exiting in a 'timely fashion', so the PS3 is doing a hard reset to compensate. You can't really infer anything about the 'health' of the PS3's hardware from this.
