In my opinion "a lot" is more than you usually get, so it really depends on how many you've previously had. Back in the early days of LBP1 I considered 100 to be a lot, but now I'd say about 100,000 is a lot (total plays, that is. 20,000ish unique plays).

I was ecstatic when one of my levels broke 1,000 plays, but I usually don't break 100. So I'd say it depends on how many you usually get.

Now, even MM Picks struggle to get above 50,000. I guess when I think of a lot, think of an obtainable goal. 100, 000 is an extreme amount of plays in today LBP2 world. I personally consider 1,000 plays a lot, and very successful.

hmm.. thats 50/50. i like the constant flow of plays, i wouldve been happy with 3000+ but i never knew my inbox had a limit, i had to empty it 4 times as it was full. and im sad i cant take the time to read all the reviews which is way easier when only 1000+ people play your level, especially as there isnt like an easy-to-go page where all the new posts are. so you need to browse through all the allready read reviews to find any new ones, which is a real pain. especially with over 1000 reviews. i dont know if i could stand another uberspam of "pl0x play this crappy level" though i insist on deleting them all..

well seeing as I'm at 79 now, and it has been over a month, anything over 100 would be a lot. Some people routinely get over 1000, and forget that for the average player that is a huge amount of plays. For most of us just 250 would be an astounding number.

I won't lie; I had super fun watching you fail fast food, especially when you became increasingly more frustrated and aggressive with the tilt controls and your typing got more... salty... As for a lot of plays there are a few people that keep re-playing my levels every week or so, I like that more than the total play count. But I'm pretty happy that all my levels each have 200+ now (over 4 or so months), but I should stress that I made them for myself first and the plays I get are a bonus for the time that I spent making them. Something I had fun doing.

I'm struggling to hit 100, heck... I haven't even hit 50 yet with any of my levels. So I'll be happy if I ever hit 100, delighted if I ever get over 1000.

Yeah, my estimates are much lower. 100 is a lot of plays for me. If you were to have 100 people jammed into one room, it'd be a pretty packed room, so yeah, 100 sounds about right.

I think it depends on who you ask (someone who gets 10000 plays within a day of posting isn't going to think 100 is a lot, where as some who gets under 10 plays per level does see 100 as a lot. Personally I think that if you break 1000 then that is a lot of plays, regardless of what your history is. I'm no where near that, haven't even broke 200 yet, almost have though (which I'm still pretty happy with in itself) so if I ever do break 1000 my opinion that it constitutes a lot of plays may change. I can't see that though, 1000 (unique) plays is a lot of people!

Plays are nice, but appreciation ratio via hearts and smilies vs frownies are more important to me. Although I think every level picks up frownies even if the thing is phenomenal. ..I just like to see everyone enjoying the level as much as I did building and playing it. If I didn't have fun, it wouldn't have been published in the first place. lol

Statistically, you're doing better than average if get more plays than the average number of levels people play divided by the average number of levels people create, which for me is probably about 100. TBH, I'm a little surprised my levels have as many plays as they do, cos they're bloody awful IMO. Still, I'm never really content with anything I make - no matter how much time you spend improving a level, there's always something else you can do to make it better. Or as Leonardo da Vinci put more succinctly: ?Art is never finished, only abandoned.?

Good point! Plays are nice, but appreciation ratio via hearts and smilies vs frownies are more important to me. And to top that: peer reviews are even better. Smiles and frowns are kind of reviews but whenever someone takes his time and effort to give constructive criticism, you the creator may have gained something good; knowledge and insight into being a more creative person. Plays are just a number, but creative energy goes a long way, even outside of the game.

Back in LBP1, for me, it was roughly over 2000, but nowadays i settle for a hundred or two. And yeah, one of my levels got like 1700 plays and i got spammed just from that, i really hate to see what people who get that (and more) often are like.

Over 2,000. Most of my levels slowly get more visits. My only instant hit was Rolling Downhill. That level had people visit my other levels. I was quite popular for a month or two, and now I'm quite obscure again.

i think 1.000 is satisfaction, but "lot of plays" i think it would be over 50.000 and higher, thats obnormal number of plays Minigolf for over 200.000 which is ridicules

I would say over 250 is a lot for the average user (those who haven't lucked into having a runaway level or built up some sort of reputation that brings in plays). If a level gets that many plays with a decent star/smile rating, I would call it a moderate success. For those who've gotten a reputation either from past accomplishments or just from being lucky, anything over 10k is good. And yeah, having a successful level can kinda' put some people in a weird sort of depression. For me, I put in the work and then it's finally finished and successful and when I want to build something else, all I can think about is how much work it'll take and how it'll never be as successful as the last one. I've been in a funk ever since my last level (though it's at least partially 'cuz I haven't had as much free time lately). As for the invites, I consider those a minor nuisance. Every time I log onto psn, I just scroll through my inbox to see if I have any "messages" and then just do a full delete of the inbox. The thing that's annoying is the friend requests 'cuz you have to individually delete each one.

I initially got around 50 or so within the first week of posting there (closer to 70 if you count return visits), and that was the only place I did. I've still only really posted there and am now around 80, and it's been nearly a month. It's a good tool, but don't get your hopes too high on it boosting your play count into the hundreds without work by you. Unless you are willing to do f4f and go out and play other levels to get people to play, it won't give it a huge hit. If you're willing to do that, then it is solid advertising and can get you quite a few plays. I did get to play several levels I may not have otherwise, and got some good feedback, so it all worked out well.

MY LEVELS: 50 is good enough for me. As a little first grader, I really never liked bringing attention to myself. I usually publish levels so I can have fun with it (and maybe a few other people too). The average plays I get is about 15ish, so 50 plays on any of my levels would impress me. Besides, my levels are horrible. OTHER PEOPLE'S LEVELS: At least 1k. 8D

If Aya wants to get more statistic-ie maybe a play count of 4x your heart count is a good guide. I seem to remember a few plays from my first showcase and was really excited when it hit 10... Then it hit 50 and then 100, each threshold was 'a lot' until I crossed it. Same with hearts; I was happy when I got 10, and was impressed as it crept to 20, then when I got to 40, I realized that maybe I should hurry up and publish my next stage.

Wohhoooo!!! I now officially consider myself to have a lot of plays. I broke 100 plays yesterday. Odd thing is that until yesterday I had 89 plays (took over a month to get that). For some reason, yesterday I got 35 unique plays. That was surprising and awesome. I would love to know what the catalyst was.

I recently hit oer 1000 plays and got the 'Create' (and, for that matter the Platinum) trophy in LBP1, thanks to my level 'Puzzle World' which has been published for almost 2 years

I was expecting no more than 50 o.O Sucks that afterward it completely stagnates... after you get off cool pages to be replaced with some lame level... My past 3 levels have been on the 2nd and 3rd pages which got me about 200 in the first 2 days but then it drops drastically to a play every day or so across all levels :/ Lol the contests help with plays.. er the judges have to play it and several people from here or other entrants play them too so those plays are generally from decent players and net you a few more than normally. I'd say 10,000 is a lot. Which is probably a ton to most people but considering how many players there are... its not really. More of a goal to me I guess.
