Connect the button to a one-count counter whose output loops around into its reset input. Then connect the counter's output to whatever you're using as a shooter. When the button is pushed, the counter will "pulse" and send the signal to fire for just a moment. It will then reset itself and become inactive until the button is released and pressed again.2011-09-18 02:21:00

Thanks this method works.now how can you make it so you get limited shots and require a reload?2011-09-22 00:35:00

You could use a variation of Uncuddly's method:

1) Place a counter and a Microchip on your controlinator's circuitboard.
2) Set the counter to count up to +1 the number of ammo you'd want (Say, if you want 10 bullets, set the counter to count to 11).
3) Set the counter to "Invert Output: Yes".
4) Place your Emitter inside the new Microchip's circuitboard.
---Wiring---
1) Wire the desired Fire button to both the Emitter, and the counter's inputs.
2) Wire whatever button -or- logic you want to the counter's reset input (You can test it by, say, wiring the Circle button to it). This'll be the reload system.

Now say you wired the X button to the emitter and the counter, you will press X 10 times, and at the 11th time, the counter will turn off the microchip containing the emitter, and it won't be activated until you press O (or whatever reload logic you might wanna add).

NOTE: Keep in mind that, as far as I'm aware, there's a bug (I think it's a bug anyway) regarding emitters, which makes them have a small delay between emissions, even while you might have set the emitters to emit as fast as they possibly can (which should be a LOT faster without this painful delay).
The basic Idea I showed you above however, works, but you'll probably want to play around with that idea to overcome this bug, if you actually encounter it.
