http://playstationeu.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/174025iC0900B4196E3AADA/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 Enjoying the recent 1.06 update (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en/game_guide/ps3/updates/#lbp2_update_1.06) and the Move Pack? (http://www.littlebigplanet.com/en/game_guide/ps3/downloadable_content/littlebigplanet_2_move_pack/) Looking for a good excuse to try out some of the new tools? Well it's your lucky day! Once again it's time to unleash your creativeness with a brand new Contraption Challenge! Let's get down to business, shall we? http://playstationeu.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/220323iB9B37E1C7CBC5475/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 We want you to make a contraption that can overcome a vertical wall. Jumping, grappling, pole-vaulting - whatever it takes. The more creative, the better! http://playstationeu.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/214999iDDBB51250FDAC529/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 You'll need a wall. It doesn't have to be a wall, just some sort of obstacle to jump over. As a general rule, it must be at least as tall as your contraption. Width isn't important. The contraption has to go OVER the wall. No teleporting, travelling through, under or knocking down the wall. The contraption should be able to make it over the wall without coming into contact with it (so no climbing up it). No flying! That's just too easy. The contraption has to be re-usable, so it should either be able to jump back over the same wall or over multiple walls. The player must be in the contraption to control it - no remote control. Simple controls are what we like; there's no need to use every button on a Controlinator. The contraption cannot be a Sackbot. We're looking for something more than just a bot with logic! And finally, YES, you can use the super-cool new PlayStation Move features! You can make use of up to two Move controllers to work your contraption. We really can't wait to see what awesome stuff you create with the Move pack, but remember this is still optional and you won't be at a disadvantage if you don't use Move in your level. http://playstationeu.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/220251iDAC95F54BD362951/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 http://playstationeu.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/215001i36F1C21126CA5629/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 1. Create a new level. It should contain: Your contraption. At least one wall for it to jump over. Instructions for how to control the contraption. Labelling outputs on a Controlinator is enough, but if you want a cutscene or interactive tutorial please make them short and optional. Quick access to get straight to the contraption. We have a lot to judge and we don't want to sit through intro movies or painfully-slow-elevator-journeys-down-to-the-contraption (make them skippable if you do include them). We want to be in the driver's seat and jumping over walls within 20 seconds of entering the level. We do only judge the contraption, but a nicely presented level is never a bad idea. 2. When you're done, give your level a title with CC14 in there somewhere (e.g. "CC14 - Super Awesome Wall Jumper!"). Also remember to give it a nice level icon, some tags and a description. 3. Publish your level before 23:59 BST on Sunday 2nd October 2011. 4. Search for CC14 (or just click here to queue up some levels (http://lbp.me/search?q=cc14)) and see what everyone else has been making! http://playstationeu.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/215003iADABE0DE53D6EDDB/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 When all of your incredible creations are done and published, the other judges and I will play the levels and pick five finalists, based on how well the contraptions are presented (visuals and sound), how well they work, how intuitive they are to control, how innovative they are and how much fun they are to use. As always, you'll get the chance to vote which one you liked the best and we'll release a video counting down to reveal the winner, along with a cool montage showing more of our favourites! Check out the video for the last challenge here! (http://youtu.be/ypfdCFYgt9s?hd=1) http://playstationeu.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/215004iEB5FADE764CD0F84/image-size/small?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 It's never a proper contest without prizes, and you may have heard (http://rocketcheetah.com/2011/08/announcing-the-littlebigplanet-contraption-challenge-pin/) that the kind folks over at Media Molecule made us a fantastic in-game pin to give away to the winner! The super-rare Contraption Challenge Pin is awarded to only the best of the best in recognition of your creative skillz of awesome for you to proudly display on your profile. Good luck! http://playstationeu.i.lithium.com/t5/image/serverpage/image-id/174010iFD629C99A3CFD38E/image-size/original?v=mpbl-1&px=-1 Anyone of any age from anywhere can take part. Yay! The level must be playable in LittleBigPlanet 2. The level mode must be set to either standard or versus - not cutscene. You can only publish ONE level with ONE contraption. You can enter either by yourself OR in a team of up to 4 people (in which case only one person should publish the level and list all other team members in the level description). Levels must be published BEFORE 23:59 BST 2nd October 2011 with CC14 in the title. Edit your level and republish it as much as you like before the deadline, but do not republish after the deadline (at least not until the contest is over). Exceptions may be given in some cases, but you MUST ask me (Nuclearfish) and wait for me to give you the go ahead. Any levels published or republished after the deadline without permission WILL be disqualified, so don't do it! The contraption must be your own creation. Borrowing ideas, using inspiration, recreating things from real life, films, games etc. - all this is fine. Just don't copy someone else?s creation and claim it as your own! I don't see any replies?! Normally people reply every hour, about how far they are on their contraption! So, let me give it a start: I'm going to build the contraption in the Blueprint ![]() Oki/ | 2011-09-21 12:48:00 Author: Okisaan ![]() Posts: 165 |
Dang It!! I was going to do that! *mumbles and grumble to self* back to the drawing board. | 2011-09-21 13:51:00 Author: biorogue ![]() Posts: 8424 |

Whoops! I completely forgot about my entry and never finished it. Oh well... Aww man! Me too. Just got too busy with other stuff. It was going to be the coolest one ever. I started making it. It was a big kid sitting on one of those bouncy ball things and would bounce over the walls. Oh well. | 2011-10-04 23:48:00 Author: biorogue ![]() Posts: 8424 |

It was a big kid sitting on one of those bouncy ball things and would bounce over the walls. Oh well. Nice idea! Mine was basically a spring that you sat on and could charge up to different power levels. I got the logic working and everything but then I bought the move pack and got sucked into that... | 2011-10-05 22:02:00 Author: PGdafrog ![]() Posts: 277 |
