DLC not loading

Hoping someone can help before my son trashes his copy of LBP2 in frustration! None of the costumes he has downloaded show up in-game and he can't access the LittleBigStore. Trawling the internet I noticed talk of regional disc codes, the cover of his games has a BCES code and number but the the disc itself has a code of BPSS which I can't find listed anywhere, could this be the reason? He loves the game but the problem with downloading means it's being played less and less.
Fingers crossed for some help... =]

Almost certainly. If your copy of LBP2 has BPSS on the disc, you'll have to return it and get a BCES (European) version. I'm not sure what region BPSS is, but it's clearly not one which is compatible.

Yea. The store downloads the right version that you would need for your accounts region. That version is only compatible with the disk version of the game from the same region. If they don't match up, then they aren't compatible. So for instance, if one of us silly Americans tries to download an Add-On from a European account, we won't be able to use it since it doesn't match our region code. Same the other way around.

Yeah, i got caught out with Assassins Creed with this one... bought the US version of the game, because even after shipping its cheaper than buying in AUS so I import a lot of games... anyways... I paid for the expansion but DLC is region locked and won't load into my game.

Luckily I bought LBP1 and 2 and Batman in AUS out of convience of speed and I'm very glad as these are my favourite games.

Plus side is that all the content is there so no wasted money... that is to say if you can get the disc swapped over without any fuss. Although I have a feeling that profiles are also region locked so this may cause a problem with losing progress...

Thanks for all the replies, passed the bad news on to my 10 year old but he'll survive! May contact Sony as the code on the disc doesn't seem to correspond to anything listed on their website.
