Someone managed to play my locked level?

Archive: 24 posts

I recently found out that of my RPG locked level had 1 play... I was like wow how?
I taked a look at the history and noticed someone really played it.
Not only he manged to play a locked level without the key, but he also taked a picture.

The Good part
The environment on the picture is something i'm not using anymore ( haven't updated the level ).

The Evil part
1-They will play each locked level they see and take picture and ruin the surprise .
2-They can also steal thing you put in a locked level, for example: You use a locked level to share some stuff with your team on a project your working on.

Are you sure you haven't game him the key?
No and i don't even know him.

How this is possible?
I ask myself the same question

What are you going to do now?
I don't know...Maybe make the level start in a empty area for the moment?

Maybe you made a mistake and it wasn't locked?
No i didn't, first of all, the level was published around 1 month ago locked. I updated it several time during the next week i published it. Last time i updated it was around 2 weeks ago and always was locked. It got the weird play 1 day before the start of this thread.

From lbp.me you guys cant see the history since it's a locked level but you can clearly see 1 play.
But, you can see history in-game.

**Proof**
Look at my history, it says my last activity was 6 days ago and it got the play last day. If you take a look at my level, it's locked. If i had modified it it would have been on my history.

Anyone experienced this situation?

Hmmm very odd. What could have happened that as soon as you published it, he played it. Considering you didn't have it locked from the beggining. If i may ask, did you publish it locked, or edited it when published?

Edit: Posted at the same time lve_msg. lol

The picture doesn't matter anyway ( got lucky ) but that can happen to someone else.
It was published a month ago and it always was locked. The last time i updated that level is around 2 weeks ago.

For extra information it got played last day.

You're not the first one, man. If I recall correctly there's a thread from Qrii_Nakari (https://lbpcentral.lbp-hub.com/index.php?t=60050-Entered-a-locked-level-without-a-key) exposing the same issue. Apparently it's something to do with Dive-In. Not publishing your level until it's done or making it a sub-level should prevent further intrusion. Or then put the entrance near a controllinator with automatic activation and no exit button, far away from everything in your level. That way someone could randomly get in but not trapped in a controllinator and unable to do a thing but leave.2011-09-15 22:10:00

If i'm not the first one, when is it getting fixed?

About the sub level idea, no because i'd like to show the progress.

Or, you could make a code box that level links to a HUB, and each of your locked levels have a level link, so instead of being locked, they are a sub level and they require the code. If you want, I can show you what I mean. And then you could have a locked empty level with the progress, so the real level is unknown to the public.2011-09-15 22:20:00

The way MM has ignored dozens of glitches since the game come out? Possibly never. In that case, make a cage of dark matter and suspend it far away from where your level's stuff is (maybe in the ceiling directly above your level, that way you just have to drop down in create mode to find it), put the entrance inside it. Right next to it, put 4 controllinators with the automatic entrance set to "Yes". Connect the "active" output of each controllinator to an OR gate and the output of this gate to a global lightning tweaker that makes everything pitch black. This way they won't be able to play, hear, or see a thing of your level. I'd also recommend making the controllinators activate a sequencer that loops on the subtitle "THIS IS A LOCKED LEVEL. YOU SHOULDN'T BE HERE. PLEASE LEAVE" so that no one wastes too much time on it waiting for something to happen

Edit: StaticLinuxPro's idea might actually be better as it doesn't waste any precious thermo space.

Yeah happened to me too, luckily the level was pretty much done and frankly it was rather hard when first published so they prob didn't get far, what actually bothered me was it didn't count the play (I get so few lol). But I did wonder how he did it...

Well if they randomly arrive in there and are immediately trapped, they'd prob leave and rate down - possibly not being aware it's a WIP, not a great way to start (I know u could always start a fresh).

If you want to have a badge out there with your progress showing, maybe just use a placeholder and update the title, so there is nothing for ppl to break in to (or accidentally dive into or w/e).

You could also just use a sticker switch door at the start. I think that the lockbox level hub is the best idea though.2011-09-15 22:37:00

Never had that happen, but I wouldn't be too upset about. I'd just delete the pic and set up a barrier and go about my day.

Doesn't seem like he was trolling - who knows, maybe it was a fan!

Although if someone was working on an unique concept and a random dude were able to rip it off after entering that person's level, it would be very bad. There'd be no words for the rage and frustration that would cause.2011-09-16 03:25:00

I know there's many solution but still isn't that extra effort for nothing? We have the feature ''lock level'' and i want to use it without having someone playing the level!

I also want to cross a level link without diverging from my mates. Quite a few people want the local camera function to work. And others want to make costumes without the decorations bugging out. But apparently that's too much to ask. MM's busy making DLC, how dare you suggest something to be patched so it works like it should have since 7 months ago!

Not because a company is working on DLC it mean they dont have to fix glitch (Tarsier makes most of the new costume between i think). I'm now glad to know i'm not the only one experiencing this and i hope it will get fixed.

Anyway i still can't believe people are using these disgusting glitch. I tough the level movers was bad enough and now they can play our locked level too? I believe they will end up being able to delete our published level or copy them!
I don't feel like my planet is safe anymore.

Alas, hackers are getting better these days. As technology advances so do they. You bigger creators better watch out.. :/2011-09-17 06:03:00
