Move onjects freely using Adv. Mover and PS Move
Archive: 7 posts
Is ther any possible way to move objects freely and fast? When I put the Advance Mover on the object and let it control using the PS Move, it can't reach from one side of the screen to the other with one swing. I'm making my own playable Drum Kit level. | 2011-09-15 10:56:00 Author: OveReAction Posts: 50 |
I have no first-hand experience with the Move yet (that starts tonight), but have you tried to use a (100 speed) Follower on the object that needs to go after the Move cursor? And if it is drum sticks you are talking about, why not make the drum sticks the cursor themselves? You are using two move controllers, right? | 2011-09-15 11:04:00 Author: Antikris Posts: 1340 |
I already made one. Like I said, move "objects" freely. And umm, I only have one Move but I know I can make for those who have 2. Everything works perfectly........maybe. I can hammer it like a real drum as well. But I only worry about the movement of the drumstick. | 2011-09-15 11:11:00 Author: OveReAction Posts: 50 |
Is ther any possible way to move objects freely and fast? I believe all Mover-like tools have a maximum speed of 100, which at default zoom should be fast enough to get from one side of the screen to the other in less than a second. If that's not fast enough, you could probably put something together with a couple of pistons at right-angles, although they have a tendency to break if they move too quickly. | 2011-09-15 15:51:00 Author: Aya042 Posts: 2870 |
I haven't fiddled around with the Move much yet but with you using an advanced mover that means it's tied down to max speed and the input it receives rather than the position the Move is pointing at on the screen. When you tilt the Move to the right the mover is activated to move to the right at the predetermined speed in its tweak menu, and will continue to move right at that speed until you stop tilting - just like if you tilted the control stick to the right on the DS3. I'd guess what you want to use is a follwer on your objects set to follow a tag. Then use the Move cursor on your Movinator with the corresponding tag attached. That way your object will follow your cursor and will reflect where you're pointing on the screen. There may be other ways to do this, like I say I haven't experimented much. | 2011-09-15 15:55:00 Author: Xaif Posts: 365 |
Cursor is for pointing things. I manipulate the stick with the Move to hold it like a real thing. So, I guess, it's impossible. | 2011-09-15 23:06:00 Author: OveReAction Posts: 50 |
Also, unless they changed it since the community jam, there is actually no way for one single player to use two move controllers at the same time. To "dual Wield" move controllers in LBP, you need to have two players (two dualshock 3 or navigaiton controllers) active in the level... Just a minor thing you should know if you are going for dual move support | 2011-09-15 23:34:00 Author: Slaeden-Bob Posts: 605 |
