Personally, FFX is my favourite game ever out of all that i have played. I have played it first when i was 9 year old, and I have played it again a few times (probably 2-3 idk).. The story, characters, world and music are really awesome and probably some of the best i've ever seen.

So this news made me really happy Is anone else excited/interested?

It's funny, when FFX first came out I remember it getting knocked a lot for lack of world map, linear areas, bad voice acting, annoying characters, the summon system, etc.

Over the last couple of years it seems a lot of people have warmed up to it, at least whenever I've read about it across different forums. I dunno, just an observation.

yeah same here. 10 was one of the FFs I disliked the most.
but it's been ages last I've played it. so maybe it's not as bad as I remember? but like you.
I don't really want to spend money on it again. I'll wait to watch videos of it on youtube. 8&apos

FFX is probably my favorite in the series as well...but I don't think I'd want to play it again. I remember it too well...and I can't imagine doing those horrible mini-games again. 2011-09-14 16:47:00

Yeah i admit it has a few defaults.. like yeah some of the minigames are bad, and the voice acing is pretty bad most of the times (i couldn't speak english when i played it so i didn't notice it).

But i still think it's the greatest FF because of the story and stuff. It's just one of those games that draw you into a world and tell you an awesome story with lots of emotions and stuff. Idk.

Mmmmm, FFX is my first FF and it isn't that bad past the voicing and tedious stuff. I always loved the battle system alot.

But, erm. Are they just fixing up the graphics and all that or are they fixing/changing/adding anything new...?

Either way, seems interesting enough. Might have to get it.

(P.S. : I wonder how people who wanted an FFVII remake reacted to this... )

seems like square enix trying to milk the cash cow again to me. I never played it but the girl next door says its really boring and lacks any action, and the story drags where it doesn't need too. Only ff i've played is 9, as its the only one which appealls to me (lack of emos/terrible anime characters) also it seems to be the only one I've seen thats actually a fantasy.2011-09-15 17:49:00

Final Fantasy X had the best story in the FF series hands down and arguably the best in the series. No other game in the series made you fear the fate that would befall the characters like it did in X. People say Tidus was "winey", but he was one of the most believable character in most rpgs i played( besides jumping 20 feet into the air like a super hero). He made his situation real, instead of being the stereotypical hard a** like Cloud or Leon. If Tidus were cool like say Auron, FF X's plot wouldnt have had much impact, and that brings me to my point about how well crafted the story was and epic! Sin had to be one of the most epic fights in an RPG ever just because the game built up to that huge climax( and it was freakin huge!!) I can go on and on about why its great.

The Gameplay was hit or miss, if you play it right( and not spam Aeons or grind) its brilliant and requires a decent amount of strategy, and it still boast the best summoning system to date. And the bosses felt like bosses, not just spam limit breaks and trading blows for blows. Take Lady Yunalesca for example, you had to actually keep a status effect on just to defeat her! I mean FF X was brilliant when it came to bosses, making them feel like chess matches rather than cure spamming events.

It didnt need a traditional world map, you could still go back to previous areas and explore and people argue it was linear and I am glad it was. It matched the pace of the story, it could have been a bit more varied, but most FF rpg you follow point A to point B. And I may be in the small minority that liked FF X's voice acting( minus the horrendous laughing scenes) and it was well written, you cant say the dialogue was horrible. Not FF 12, but for its time, it was great. Not to mention is has one of the best soundtracks ever composed in an RPG.

I'll defiantly be getting this again Seriously, one of best games ever made in HD!! Who wouldnt get this?

It's not really a re-make, more of a re-mastering. Kinda like what they did to God of War or Sly Colection. If they wanted to remake FF7 on PS3 they would have to re-do everything from scratch, so there's a huge difference.

--------

People like Final Fantasy games for different reasons. Some people just care for gameplay and action, and don't really care for characters and stuff. Personally, i care the most for story, art design, and stuff like that.

I never had a problem with the VA (minus laughing part), because i'm not really an english speaker and i couldn't speak english at all when i first played it, but after what people said about it i assumed it must have been kinda bad. But the voices did fit the characters, for example Yuna's voice matched with her character alot, and in fact, kinda inforced it.

I do not actually consider FFX as a game, in fact it's a true work of art, like other FF games, but in my opinion much more than the other FF games.

Awesome - I would have to say that FFX was probably my favourite of the whole FF series. (with FF8 a very close 2nd)
It kept it turn based, but also added the action from FF8. It was alot more strategic aswell because of the combat swap-out system. It also had one of the best leveling systems - I must have played it through at least 3 times - and each time I built my characters up in a completely different way.
Blitzball was probably the best Meta-game in the series aswell (though only just ahead of the trading card meta-game from FF8).

In fact, I was playing this not 2 months ago on the PS2 - and it still looks awesome - it hardly even needs an HD update - they could just re-release the game as is.

Ever since FFX I haven't really enjoyed where they were taking the whole FF series from then on... FFX was the last one that had any "soul".

Even though I've played it many times, I think I'll still buy this anyway. (saves me from having to dig out the PS2)

FFX is one of my top 3 FF's. That classic opening of "To Zanarkand" with the beautiful piano notes, the rich color palette, finding out the truth about Auron, the summon system (Ifrit made me cry tears of joy) so many great things about this game (even Blitzball, I actually enjoyed it!). Here is the thing about HD collections, if you already played the game would you really go back and play it all over again (simply because it's in HD) when there are so many great, new games being released this year (and the past couple of years in general)? I loved the Sly collection because I never played the Sly games. ICO collection is likewise a must-buy. GoW collection also makes sense if you haven't played the PSP games. MGS collection? Played those games religiously but still a must buy, it's MGS lol. The same applies to movies/books/shows. I have read so many great books, some of which I would love to read again, but then I think about how many books I will be unable to read before my life is done due to the march of time so why retread the same ground (as beautiful as that ground might be)?

I seriously wish I could freeze time
