How did this guy do it?
Archive: 6 posts
Hello everyone. It's been a long while since I played LBP2. I was just looking at LBP2 videos in Youtube and found this particular video . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut7_4nvZD6k I'm talking about the 3d layer glitch. From my experience, 3d glitched layers aren't affected by single sources of lighting. So if a level has 0 brightness, but has a couple of lights scattered about, the 3d glitched layer won't show and will stay pitch black no matter how bright the lights are. But this guy was able to make everything dark with only light bulbs and glowsticks illuminating the level but at the same time, was able to show and light the 3d layer glitched background. Anyone know how he was able to do it? Thank you in advance. | 2011-09-13 19:21:00 Author: Whitemon ![]() Posts: 57 |
Lights on the 3d layer. Simple. | 2011-09-14 22:24:00 Author: Undarivik ![]() Posts: 442 |
I don't think it's as easy as that. That's not possible. I've tried. | 2011-09-15 05:41:00 Author: Whitemon ![]() Posts: 57 |
Maybe the darkness wasn't all the way down? Like, I know it was down. But maybe not fully. That would explain it. If it is down all the way, then I don't know... I've never really experimented with 3d in darkness... ![]() ![]() | 2011-09-15 06:04:00 Author: Speedynutty68 ![]() Posts: 1614 |
Thanks. Maybe, I've messed around with the brightness and such while I was trying to make it work but I couldn't quite do it. I'll see if he used fog too. The movie itself looks to be foggy or maybe that was just the recording. All my levels are completely dark (0 Brightness) with only individual lights illuminating the whole level. I make creepy/scary levels so that helps a lot with the mood and the atmosphere. | 2011-09-15 14:07:00 Author: Whitemon ![]() Posts: 57 |
Yeah, its annoying that they took away 3D level lighting. ![]() | 2011-09-15 15:12:00 Author: CYMBOL ![]() Posts: 1230 |
