Cant get views for my levels anymore :(

I put in hours into making a haunted house game and its actually really good, but no1 is playing it. Id rather have everyone who played it dislike it then no1 play it at all. Well.. the good news is you did post it in the level showcase, but you didn't use the F4F system. This post may help if you truly want help... otherwise you are simply posting a 'play my level thread', which usually get locked.

I would have typed all that here, but the last person I did that for still hasn't posted their level in the level showcase. However I do notice that besides not using F4F, your level thread is quite bland... no pics, nothing inspiring in the description. Sell it! Make it pop! Add some pics! Make people WANT to play it.

I'd follow the great suggestions of Jww, and hopefully you will get a bunch of plays within the next few days

Also be sure to check that you have written the URL for your level correctly. I believe a type have hidden itself if your OP, causing page-load error when willing people try to go the the link provided...

It took me five months to break 50 plays for any of my levels, and that only happened because my latest level benefited from a combined heavy marketing, lots of reviews of other levels, and some kind friends promoting it so it hit the cool pages (I am told it also got Spotlighted here, thank you to all who played!) It soared from 15 plays to something in the range of 200 plays, and the "trickle down" to my other levels pulled everything for LBP2 over 100 plays. I'm tremendously proud of this, but again, five months. Somewhere along the way I found I really just enjoyed creating, not being recognized for creating - that helps.

I am not a fan of F4F just as I am not a fan of H4H or other methods that are mostly intended to boost one's own plays by social cooperation. Tit for tat is perfectly fair, but it's still a bartering system - people play your levels because they expect something in return. Some expect you to fulfill your end before they even deliver. It's all very gray, and can be as demoralizing as having no plays, or having all negative feedback. It's like people at a party who only talk because they have a chance to plug their business. It's not to say everyone isn't still in it for love of the game and the interaction. But while F4F is an option to improve plays via LBPC (which is a wonderful community and the system itself is not broken or bad, don't get me wrong), I still find it more comfortable to play levels, leave organic feedback, and just let that aspect of the game be its own thing. I don't play to be played, but I appreciate that a good review can lead to many more plays.

Not to drone on with platitudes and catchphrases, but I also believe: Success will come. Like success in anything it comes easier to some than others, sometimes unfairly, sometimes too late to mean anything. But if you spend long enough in the game, it comes.

I hope you will keep creating and of course you're getting the word out about your level by posting here and elsewhere. Keep on creatin' as one upbeat LBPC fellow says!

I like F4F and will play levels to give my opions. I dont expect people to feel obligated to play my levels in return and sometimes don't even ask them to. The link is in my sig, if my feedback was good enough they may paly it or not. The reason I play F4F is to help my own create skills, if something isn't working and I explain why I dont like it I might get better in my own design.

But you do need to advertise and work at selling your product. F4F isn't really for plays it's more about fine tuning your level so people that do play leave better reviews. This second wave of buzz is where the plays come from.

This is so true. Not neccessarily for this post (although time will tell). But I've actually responded to people's levels either here or on other sites and they've never actually come back. Even found bugs and annoying sections and areas that I can't get to from accidentally falling off a platform. Yet no responce, so there's no point me going back to play it if the person isn't bothered to see that a there may be problems and any feedback. How am I suppose to play it if it's not fixed. Although this has not happend often. If they're not active and say they come back weeks even months later then interest in that level may have faded.

Also, as a tip it's wise to check other peoples posts on their levels on the showcase and project ideas forums and do the same if they're getting hundreds of views. Remember with all the 1000s of posts being made it's best to keep your post/thread up to date so it doesn't dissapear under all the newer post.

I also agree with the fine tuning comment, especially if you're new to creating or not as experienced or don't have many levels. It helps. So get out there promoting more

hi no need for p4p. h4h . f4f to get plays just do the following below


1.make sure you have no flaws OR gliches in the level and pass everything easy im not saying make your level easy just make it nice

2. decorate the level depending on the theme no need to rush take your time


3.IF the meters almost full and your not done put in a level link or make a quick nice ending don't panic and rush and be lazy

4.make it an puzzler puzzles are fun and changing i suggest like find the switch in the haunted mansion to get pass the gate something like that


5. if using stickers use the cut sticker tool its very useful but i prefer using sackbots


6 when your done creating give it a cool name and some awesome labels


7. DO NOT MAKE IT COPYABALE

8. publish
