Could someone explain to me how you make magic mouths only talk once? I'm making a level with a lot of dialogue and I don't want annoying white text boxes all over the place all the time.2008-12-23 00:24:00

If you stick it to dissolve material and then when you walk away make it disappear destroying the mouth.

You can attach it to a switch, and rig the level so that the switch only ever activates once.2008-12-23 13:16:00

I've been planning to make the next of my "How to" series about magic mouths...

But I don't quite understand the issue you have raised, Sack-Jake. Do you want the triangle re-read button to disappear? Do you want to only have the chance to read things once, or the chance to read them again if you come back to an area?

It might help to know that the game only "remembers" 8 magic mouths at a time. Any more and it forgets the oldests ones that appeared.

If multiple mouths overlap in terms of sensor area, you can only re-read the first one you triggered in a given area. Something else to be aware of.
