GameExpo II - A Cartridge Based Portable Gaming System.

(Based off of Robbit10's Jukebox XI)

As the title says, it is an advanced portable CARTRIDGE BASED gaming system, but as you can tell by the amount of toggle switches at the side, it can do much more than PLAY games.

To Play a game on the GameExpo II, you get a cartridge, and place it into the cartridge slot. (you can do this by toggling the toggle switch below the on/off switch). Then, turn it on by toggling the toggle switch next to the microschip with the on/off symbol on it. Once on, it'll play the welcoming tune, display the name of the game you inserted, and the game will play. If no cartridge is inserted, then once the GameExpo II has turned on, it will then ask for you to then insert one.

The GameExpo has 4 Controllinators, as you can probably see, but thanks to the second to bottom toggle switch, GameExpo II's can now play cross-platform, or 'online multiplayer' (GameExchange). The GameExpo you'd like to be player 2, just toggles the toggle next to the 'P2' microchip, then the GameExpo II will search for a 2 Player compatible game. If it cannot find one, it will tell you, and if it can, it'll then run what the 2 player game wants it to run, no matter where the GameExpo II console is.

The GameExpo II has to be off before a game is inserted into a slot (you cannot have it on, then place a cartridge, unless it is placed in the slot, otherwise the game might go off the screen). To make add-ons for the GameExpo able to switch games, without having to wire certain wires from the add-on to the GameExpo, which can be very annoying, you can just toggle the switch next to the wi-fi signal, to turn on 'Wireless Communications'. Once on, add-ons and accessories can now control the on/off and reset game override of the GameExpo II.

Whats more annoying than having a game, and getting really far, before then having to turn it off, and re-start the game next time its on? Nothing! That's why we made memory cards for the GameExpo II. Games can send out a signal, and the memory card will store that signal. Memory cards only work if one memory card is for one game. (You cannot use one memory card for 2 games).

The best bit and the main part about the GameExpo is the fact that you can make your own games for it!

That's right, all of these features on the GameExpo are for YOUR games. There are blank cartridges and everything you need to build your own arcade games in the official GameExpo II level. The Blank cartridges have instructions on how to do everything, so dont worry if you don't know how to make your game 2 player, how to get a memory card to work with your game, how to emit your game, how to make hologram not go off the screen etc!

GameExpo II's, although are welcome to be personalized, come in 4 different themes:

[Top Left - GameExpo II Console - Original v2] [Top Right - GameExpo II Console - Coffee Wood] [Bottom Left - GameExpo II Console - Space Tech] [Bottom Right - GameExpo II Clear Console]

GameExpo has a brother, called 'GameWave' which have the same themes, but uses movinators instead of controllinators.

I get asked a lot "how is it portable?". Well, that's easy. You can play games whenever you like, whether it be online or offline.

[Update 1.2 - Fixed Multiplayer Function]

[Update 2.0 - New Intro + Outro Tunes. New sounds. 'Piano Black' changed to 'Space Tech'. Original theme has been changed. GameWave II Consoles now say 'GameWave II' Instead of saying 'GameExpo II' (1.9 Bug). Cartridges now instantly travel to the slot]
[Update 2.1] Went through all of the On/Off microchip and cleared it out, organised it and made it clean. Now the GameExpo II has less lag.
[Update 2.1.1] Fixed Start Up saying 'Quadratum' on GameExpo II's (2.1 Bug), Fixed Shut-down not working (2.1 Bug).

The GameExpo II Console was inspired from Robbit10's JukeBox XI.

The JukeBox XI was inspired by the MePod and Serikos Disc-based Music Player.

Because I helped make the JukeBox in some areas, and Robbit10 helped make the GameExpo in some areas, games are banned from official release for the JukeBox XI, and Music Cartridges are banned from official release from the GameExpo. Unless the partnership ends (which is very unlikley) please do not ask for a music playlist cartridge.

I work on the GameExpo itself almost every day. A lot of work has gone into this, and even more work has gone into make it so so so easy for the community to use.

[U]GameExpo III, it is coming.
After nearly a year and a half, the next generation of GameExpo is finally arriving.
GameExpo. What a history it's had. At one point it was T-Games's prize possession, and at others it was going to be taken down from the interwebs. However, now- with the departure of the Quadratum, T-Games is listening to the community and focusing on it's pure consoles - GameExpo and NeXT. Luckily for the community, that means GameExpo is finally getting an upgrade... and boy - is it a big one. The GameExpo III is currently in beta and dev kits have been supplied for developers. The GameExpo III will be completely backwards compatible with all previous GameExpo cartridges and it will be released on the 26th of June 2013 - GameExpo's 2nd Birthday.

Feel free to drop by if ya wanna peek at it (or send a psn message, ill be on later or so... ).2011-09-13 06:14:00

Okay, I've queued this, and once I've played this, I'll be making games for this for a while.

EDIT: Okay, I've tried this out. It's awesome. But, I can't think of what to make yet, so many possibilities! Oh, by the way, I bumped into a bug: I was making a game for the GameExpo, I booted it up, but then it said that I had inserted Pong, but the Pong Cartridge was on the other side of the screen, so I moved it further away, and it still did that! Do you know what's going on?

hello bob! head game developer deschuttes2 here for duty! lol. i would love to make games for this thing. i took a look at the tech of this thing and i think i have made a major breakthrough with it. it just needs a bit more "power" to be useable for more complex things. mabie a normal version and a pro version? and i don't know who to contact to show them about this2011-10-07 00:06:00

i don't know who to contact to show them about this

If you want to contact us, go to the T-Games website and click 'contact us'
Fill in the blanks and click send. Oh, and every single one is read!

GameExpos look for Cartridges that are anywhere around the map.
So for instance, you could be playing a game on a gameexpo, with another game across the map (like you were) and the GameExpo will still pick it up. Now, it'll get over-run by the amount of cartridges and some cartridges will start to muck about and the GameExpo will get confused with which game it should play, like with yours.

I can now announce that 2 new machines will be coming our way around xmas time! The new machines will be called 'GameExpo II' and 'GameWave II' and are partially made and fully designed by 'Zeus Tech'.

The GameMake II machines will replace the original machines with the multiplayer function, as the GameMake II machines also have Multiplayer, and will be an extra reason to get these new machines.

These are the new features:

Multiplayer
Memory Cards
Better Screen
GameMakes are friends! (if one machine is on and playing a game, it wont turn off because another machine is off)
New intro and outro song
New Cartridge design, and more logic inside of it

That's all for now, but the machines still have a little more than 2 months until they need to be fully completed, so expect more improvements!

A picture will be released of the new GameMakes soon.

it just needs a bit more "power" to be useable for more complex things. mabie a normal version and a pro version?s What would be the advantage of having a pro version? what features would be easier to do on the easier version? What complex things would the pro be able to do that the normal cannot? Please reply to this message as it would be interesting listening to your idea of a new superior, more powerful machine to join the gamemake library.

I've been off LBP2 for about 5 months now to focus on my music, but this single-handedly makes me wanna come back! I use to be a logic guru, and it'll take me a while to get back use to LBP, but can I join your developing team? I would love making games!

Currently working on a short Super Mario minigame. Working out all the logic right now. probably 45% done.

GameExpo is owned, by T-Games (us). We made the original GameExpo. But we don't just work on the GameExpo, we are a gaming company, we also make levels and are also based on Minecraft, you can check us out on our website http://www.tgames-online.webs.com . Another company, Zeus Tech inc, also work on the GameExpo, but they mainly work on themes, and ideas for it (they came up with the idea for memory cards, and actually made the GameExpo II design). One thing i didn't mention in the post though (or if i did i can't remember doing so ) is the fact that this comes with a blank game cartridge. The Community can single handedly make their own games. You can, if you want, set up your own little company for it, like CheeseDragon did, they made a shop called 'Game Go!' which sells accessories for the GameExpo, and make games like pac man and frogger. You can, however apply to become a member of T-Games by contacting us on our website. It doesn't say that you can apply in the list, but you can. We can't just pick you like that though, you have to show us some of your work. Give us a link to a level of yours, and we'll queue it, and take a look. If we think you'd be good in another company that work on GameExpo, we'll contact them, show them your work, and if they like it, we'll contact you to say that they like it, and that they also work on GameExpo.

Sorry for writing a long reply, i could of easily said 'Just apply and show us your best level, then we'll see if a company that work on GameExpo will want you to work for them, including us.)

A very unique idea, and quite intriguing at that. I just qued, so Im off to check it out soon! It looks interesting, but think of the possibilities later. Whole games inside games, like imagine if someone like Hazbell made "LBP2 in LBP2" with the popit bot? The possibilities are endless. Also, larger gaming consoles could be constructed for more complex games.

Funny thing is, a while back, I actually made a CD Player, that if you just inserted a CD, (With songs pre-hooked up inside it's microchip) you could start, ctop, and cycle through up to eight different songs. The thing was not that complex, but it is surprising how alike it was to the cartridge-system thing you came up with!

I am very pleased with the amount of people liking this machine of mine Please, share it with your friends! If we can get this thing heard then maybe there'll be a whole library of Games to choose from! (Well, there is already but it sounds more dramatic when you say it like that )2011-11-17 17:34:00

CRAP.

I get a YLOD a week before something epic is being created.

Can people make custom games on it?

Yes, but very few people have. There are blank cartridges and everything you need to build your own arcade games in the official GameExpo II level. So far the only people creating games for it are T Games, Me (ZeusInTraining), and GameGo! so we would be happy to have another community member creating games for it!2011-11-19 18:47:00

That's not true, zeus. Many people are creating their own games for it, some share it, but most don't (they do message me, though).2011-11-20 11:44:00

This seems like a great concept. I'll be sure to check it out sometime tomorrow.

The screen shots caught my interest because I have long thought that people should "Package" items when they hand them out to the community. Really dress up what they make.

I have recently updated this console to 1.8.1 . I am not aware of any glitches or problems with the device. If you are experiencing problems with your device and it says 'UPDT1.8.1' in the description of the console, state the glitch or problem, and i'll get to work on it right away. If your device has something like 'HW1._SW1._' as the description, or no description at all, your GameExpo II Console needs updating.

If you have ideas for any updates (i.e. you have an idea for a new feature) please state that in the post, and i will try to add it in.

I made a PSP and I'll try to adapt the GameExpo logic with it to make it work. (The main difference is that it works with UMDs instead of cartridges, and the screen is not the same size). Can't wait to look at this thing's logic 2012-01-22 17:39:00

This is awesome. I've just made a game with this myself. But since it requires quite a bit of DLC, I'm probably gonna need to make a bare version of it.2012-01-23 03:01:00

The GameExpo requires no DLC. The console you probably have is the GameWave. The GameWave is the GameExpo but instead of using the sixaxis it uses the move wand, so it uses movinators, requiring DLC. If the Console you have is NOT The GameWave, please do state what DLC there is on it, and I will remove it as soon as is possible.

No. I mean the game I made with it has DLC in it.

Since our aim for the GameExpo II is to extend the limits for it, we have come up with some ideas for future add-ons and updates. Just tell us what you think of these ideas:

? Powerpoint cartridge - Finally makes use of the 'Next' feature, that was originaly for music.
? A manual mute switch - At the moment, the GameExpo II console will go into silent mode if a JukeBox XI console is detected, but this feature only works with JukeBox XI's, and no other devices. If a manual mute switch were to be added, then the GameExpo II could be silenced whenever.
? A Proper menu - This will be a seperate screen on the device. Probably on a future version of the device, as the changes would be too dramastic for just an 'update'.
