Stephen Fry alternatives

Archive: 24 posts

As much as I love Stephen Fry's narration in LBP, I started thinking about who could replace him if he was ever too busy for narration.

I instantly Thought of Jeremy Clarkson from Top Gear :l

Actually you can see an interview between the two of them here

To me, Jeremy is a comedic genius and he does excellent narration of top gear, so he would be my top pick.

What about you guys?

Bear Grylls! When you got nothing digestible, eat your own stuffing

Just kidding, If I would pick someone I think it would be Jim Carrey I think he sounds quite awesome

Peter Sallis, whilst sadly no longer with us, would have been great. He did the voice of Wallace in Wallace and Gromit. I'm sure other people can do the voice but still.
I just think that the wacky inventor's narration would inspire levels to be made. I mean who else would make this:

Edit:He's not dead! My mistake! I will leave my error though so that other posts make sense. Now post some other great voices. I'm surprised nobody has said Optimus Prime...

It just so happens that the Move pack introduction level has a female narrator (obviously not Stephen Fry).2011-09-12 21:32:00

Ian McKellen in his Gandalf voice. Remember those parts in each LBP's first level where we get stuck and have to kill ourselves to retry? Just in the moment we fall down the pit he'd shout "YOU SHALL NOT PASS!" 2011-09-12 22:12:00

I'm pretty sure Peter Sallis is still alive, dude.

But on topic, i'm really not sure! Stephen is irreplaceable! I'm sure he'd always try to find the time to do a bit of narration for the game. Hearing him do the "More Stories" bit from the new update shows that he still cares. I love the man.

I guess if I HAD to choose, i'd say Patrick Stewart. Imagine that! lol

Also, thread belongs in LBP2 Suggestions or Everything Else LBP2 maybe?

You're looking at the "Years active" part which says "1947-2010". So, it seems he's only retired and is still with us.

"Cracking!"

There is no alternative! Stephen Fry is the perfect narrator, and a national treasure to us Brits.

The day Stephen Fry has no time/dies, Sackboy goes with him. As far as I'm concerned, Stephen Fry IS Littlebigplanet!

Well, Stephen Fry was 2nd choice for QI behind the Legend that is Michael Palin (of Monty Python Fame);

He would be a good choice - as would John Cleese - or in fact, just about any of the Python Crew would be a pretty good choice.

Not that we want Stephen Fry replacing anyway

What about Alan Rickman's voice?

For those who don't know, he's better known as Snape in Harry Potter.

Morgan Freeman.

I'd want that man to narrate my life.

Seth MacFarlane, Egoraptor, Morgan Freeman.

All have godly voices.

If you don't know who egoraptor is:

Sean Connery. The end

As much as I love him, I'd have to say no. I mean, imagine it.

Thish ish Shackboy, he'll be joining you on your adventuresh through Craftworld.

Stephen is the epitome of narration in my heart, but if he REALLY had to go then I would want Morgan Freeman.
