Making a grabbable ball attatched to a grab-sensored piston
Archive: 4 posts
I know in at least one story level I've seen balls of grabbable materials dangling from pistons that, when grabbed and a grab sensor attached to the piston is activated, shrink to their minimum height and bring the ball and Sackboy up with it, then when no longer grabbed, comes back down to its static original position. What settings should my piston be on to do something like that? The most I've ended up with is a piston that goes up when I grab it, but doesn't come back down when I let go. | 2011-09-12 04:28:00 Author: Behonkiss Posts: 229 |
I've seen and used this with a retractable chain - but a piston should work fine! 1) Set the chain/piston to "in/out". 2) Wire a short timer short timer that goes forward/backwards. Grab sensor ----> Timer (forward/backward, set to 0.1) -----> chain/piston (in/out) EDIT ... There may be an easier way! What am I forgetting...? | 2011-09-12 05:33:00 Author: Unknown User |
isn't it just, grab sensor -> directional piston? maybe you have to invert if it doesn't work? | 2011-09-12 06:09:00 Author: nunsmasher Posts: 247 |
Attatch a grab switch to the grabble material. Connect the output to the piston. Set the pistons length, the timing, and set it to inverted (either the grab switch or the piston). Don't forget to set the input (for the piston) to direction. Should be working fine if you did it right. | 2011-09-13 02:14:00 Author: FEAR Posts: 337 |
