Stickers on microchips

Archive: 8 posts

I've made a couple microchips with a few components in them that I use allot, and I put stickers on them so I can quickly see what it is. Now my question is, in play mode you won't see these chips, so do these stickers count towards the thermo?2011-09-11 20:49:00

I'm not entirely sure, but I'd definitely like to know as well.

Logic (ha) dictates that they shouldn't.

I do not know, but I would side with xero on this. Seems like they wouldn't/shouldn't.2011-09-13 00:07:00

Stickers don't typically take up a lot of thermo (unless its a PSEye custom sticker)., so I wouldn't worry about it too much.2011-09-13 01:16:00

Do pseye stickers count the same as photos taken and using them as stickers on microchips? Cause I use photos taken of simple drawings with holo on darkmatter?2011-09-13 01:29:00

Doesn't seem like anyone has ever had that problem Tricky, otherwise they'd have a solid answer for you
Best you can do is try it yourself and post back some results whenever Good luck!

I have tried this myself, and I didn't really see any difference in the thermometer except when you use a PlayStation Eye sticker. It also just makes your level a little bit more laggy if you put a lot of stickered microchips in create mode.2011-09-13 02:10:00

I guess the way to check would be to take an empty chip and see how many it takes to get to 1/4 thermo.

Then sticker that same chip and see how many of those it will take.

I will wager that the end result is that the difference is so minor that it is insignificant.

It's like asking if taking the full sized spare tire off the back of your SUV will improve gas mileage. It will, but not enough to matter.

I get that folks want to optimize levels, but logic components take up a relatively minor amount of thermo. Most levels take up more thermo with a shape that has 10 vertices than they do with the average sticker or microchip.
